1
O sing unto the LORD a new song; for he hath done marvellous things: his right hand, and his holy arm, hath gotten him the victory.
*Sing a new song to God! He has done amazing things. His strong hand and holy power have won the battle.
2
The LORD hath made known his salvation: his righteousness hath he openly shewed in the sight of the heathen.
*The Lord has revealed his saving help. He has shown his fairness to everyone, especially non-believers.
3
He hath remembered his mercy and his truth toward the house of Israel: all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.
*He remembers being kind and true to Israel's family, and everyone on Earth sees God's saving power.
4
Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise.
*Sing happily to God for everyone! Be loud and happy, and sing praises.
5
Sing unto the LORD with the harp; with the harp, and the voice of a psalm.
*Sing to God using a harp; use a harp and your voice to sing a praise song.
6
With trumpets and sound of cornet make a joyful noise before the LORD, the King.
*Play happy music with trumpets and horns for the King, who is the LORD.
7
Let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.
*Let the ocean make loud noises, along with all its creatures; let the entire Earth and everyone living on it do the same.
8
Let the floods clap their hands: let the hills be joyful together
*Let the rivers applaud: let the mountains celebrate together
9
Before the LORD; for he cometh to judge the earth: with righteousness shall he judge the world, and the people with equity.
*Before God; because he comes to judge the Earth: with fairness, he will judge the world, and people with fairness too.
