Chapter 26
Back to Chapters
1
Judge me, O LORD; for I have walked in mine integrity: I have trusted also in the LORD; therefore I shall not slide.
*Lord, judge me because I've been honest and true. I trust in you, so I won't fall.
2
Examine me, O LORD, and prove me; try my reins and my heart.
*Check me, God, and test me; examine my actions and my feelings.
3
For thy lovingkindness is before mine eyes: and I have walked in thy truth.
*Because your kindness is always with me: I have followed your truth.
4
I have not sat with vain persons, neither will I go in with dissemblers.
*I haven't hung out with people who waste time, and I won't join those who pretend to be someone they're not.
5
I have hated the congregation of evil doers; and will not sit with the wicked.
*I don't like being around bad people; I won't hang out with them.
6
I will wash mine hands in innocency: so will I compass thine altar, O LORD:
*I will clean my hands, being innocent: this way, I will approach your altar, Lord.
7
That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving, and tell of all thy wondrous works.
*So that I can share with a grateful voice everything you have done wonderfully.
8
LORD, I have loved the habitation of thy house, and the place where thine honour dwelleth.
*LORD, I really love the place where you live and the spot where your glory resides.
9
Gather not my soul with sinners, nor my life with bloody men:
*Don't mix my soul with wicked people or my life with violent ones.
10
In whose hands is mischief, and their right hand is full of bribes.
*In whose hands is trouble, and they hold bribes in their right hand.
11
But as for me, I will walk in mine integrity: redeem me, and be merciful unto me.
*But for me, I'll act with honesty: please save me and show kindness to me.
12
My foot standeth in an even place: in the congregations will I bless the LORD.
*My foot is firmly planted in a balanced spot: in gatherings, I will praise the Lord.
