Psalms 28

Unto thee will I cry, O LORD my rock; be not silent to me: lest, if thou be silent to me, I become like them that go down into the pit.

I will call out to you, God, my strong protector; don't ignore me. If you don't help me, I might be like those who go down to a terrible place.

Hear the voice of my supplications, when I cry unto thee, when I lift up my hands toward thy holy oracle.

Listen to my prayers, as I call on you, when I raise my hands towards your sacred place.

Draw me not away with the wicked, and with the workers of iniquity, which speak peace to their neighbours, but mischief is in their hearts.

Don't let me be led astray by bad people who pretend to be nice to others but secretly have evil intentions.

Give them according to their deeds, and according to the wickedness of their endeavours: give them after the work of their hands; render to them their desert.

Reward people based on what they do, and how wicked their actions are. Pay them back according to their actions.

Because they regard not the works of the LORD, nor the operation of his hands, he shall destroy them, and not build them up.

Because they don't consider what the LORD does or how he works, he will destroy them and won't support them.

Blessed be the LORD, because he hath heard the voice of my supplications.

Praised is God, for He has listened to my prayers.

The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.

The LORD is my power and my protection. I trust in Him, and He helps me. That's why my heart is very happy, and I sing to praise Him.

The LORD is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed.

The LORD is their power, and he is the safety for those he has chosen.

Save thy people, and bless thine inheritance: feed them also, and lift them up for ever.

Save your people and bless what belongs to you; feed them too and raise them forever.
