Chapter 43
Back to Chapters
1
Judge me, O God, and plead my cause against an ungodly nation: O deliver me from the deceitful and unjust man.
*God, judge me and defend me against a wicked country. Save me from dishonest and unfair people.
2
For thou art the God of my strength: why dost thou cast me off? why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?
*You are the God who gives me strength, so why do you abandon me? Why am I sad because of the mistreatment by my enemies?
3
O send out thy light and thy truth: let them lead me; let them bring me unto thy holy hill, and to thy tabernacles.
*Please send your light and truth to guide me; let them take me to your sacred mountain and dwelling places.
4
Then will I go unto the altar of God, unto God my exceeding joy: yea, upon the harp will I praise thee, O God my God.
*Then I'll visit the altar of God, to the joyful God Himself: yes, on the harp I'll celebrate you, my God.
5
Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.
*Why are you feeling sad, my soul? And why are you so restless inside? Trust in God because I will still praise him. He is what makes me feel better and he's my God.
