KJV: Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?

Geneva: Why doe the heathen rage, & the people murmure in vaine?

KJV: The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying,

Geneva: The Kings of the earth band themselues, and the princes are assembled together against the Lord, and against his Christ.

KJV: Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.

Geneva: Let vs breake their bands, and cast their cordes from vs.

KJV: He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the LORD shall have them in derision.

Geneva: But he that dwelleth in the heauen, shall laugh: the Lord shall haue them in derision.

KJV: Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure.

Geneva: Then shall hee speake vnto them in his wrath, & vexe them in his sore displeasure, saying,

KJV: Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.

Geneva: Euen I haue set my King vpon Zion mine holy mountaine.

KJV: I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.

Geneva: I will declare the decree: that is, the Lord hath said vnto me, Thou art my Sonne: this day haue I begotten thee.

KJV: Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.

Geneva: Aske of me, and I shall giue thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the endes of the earth for thy possession.

KJV: Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.

Geneva: Thou shalt krush them with a scepter of yron, and breake them in pieces like a potters vessell.

KJV: Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth.

Geneva: Be wise nowe therefore, ye Kings: be learned ye Iudges of the earth.

KJV: Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling.

Geneva: Serue the Lorde in feare, and reioyce in trembling.

KJV: Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.

Geneva: Kisse the sonne, least he be angry, and ye perish in the way, when his wrath shall suddenly burne. blessed are all that trust in him.
