1 O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.

*Thank God, because He's kind and His love lasts forever.

2 O give thanks unto the God of gods: for his mercy endureth for ever.

*Thank the God of all gods, as his kindness lasts forever.

3 O give thanks to the Lord of lords: for his mercy endureth for ever.

*Thank the Lord of all kings: because his kindness lasts forever.

4 To him who alone doeth great wonders: for his mercy endureth for ever.

*To the one who does amazing things by themselves: their kindness lasts forever.

5 To him that by wisdom made the heavens: for his mercy endureth for ever.

*To the one who wisely created the sky, his kindness lasts forever.

6 To him that stretched out the earth above the waters: for his mercy endureth for ever.

*To the one who spread out the land over the water: because his kindness lasts forever.

7 To him that made great lights: for his mercy endureth for ever:

*To the one who created huge stars: his kindness lasts forever.

8 The sun to rule by day: for his mercy endureth for ever:

*The sun governs during the day, and its kindness lasts forever.

9 The moon and stars to rule by night: for his mercy endureth for ever.

*The moon and stars guide us at night; God's kindness lasts forever.

10 To him that smote Egypt in their firstborn: for his mercy endureth for ever:

*To the one who struck Egypt's firstborn: because his compassion lasts forever.

11 And brought out Israel from among them: for his mercy endureth for ever:

*He took Israel out of there, his kindness lasts forever.

12 With a strong hand, and with a stretched out arm: for his mercy endureth for ever.

*With a powerful hand and an extended arm: because his kindness lasts forever.

13 To him which divided the Red sea into parts: for his mercy endureth for ever:

*To the one who split the Red Sea into parts: for his kindness lasts forever.

14 And made Israel to pass through the midst of it: for his mercy endureth for ever:

*He led Israel through the middle of it, because his kindness lasts forever.

15 But overthrew Pharaoh and his host in the Red sea: for his mercy endureth for ever.

*But Pharaoh and his army were defeated in the Red Sea, for his kindness lasts forever.

16 To him which led his people through the wilderness: for his mercy endureth for ever.

*To the one who guided his people through the desert: for his kindness lasts forever.

17 To him which smote great kings: for his mercy endureth for ever:

*To the one who defeated powerful kings: his compassion lasts forever.

18 And slew famous kings: for his mercy endureth for ever:

*And killed famous kings: because his kindness lasts forever:

19 Sihon king of the Amorites: for his mercy endureth for ever:

*Sihon, the king of the Amorites, received endless mercy.

20 And Og the king of Bashan: for his mercy endureth for ever:

*And King Og of Bashan: his kindness lasts forever:

21 And gave their land for an heritage: for his mercy endureth for ever:

*And they passed on their land as a legacy: because his kindness lasts forever.

22 Even an heritage unto Israel his servant: for his mercy endureth for ever.

*Even an inheritance belongs to Israel, God's servant, because His kindness lasts forever.

23 Who remembered us in our low estate: for his mercy endureth for ever:

*Who remembered us when we were poor: because his kindness lasts forever.

24 And hath redeemed us from our enemies: for his mercy endureth for ever.

*And he has saved us from our opponents: because his kindness lasts forever.

25 Who giveth food to all flesh: for his mercy endureth for ever.

*Who gives food to all living things: for his kindness lasts forever.

26 O give thanks unto the God of heaven: for his mercy endureth for ever.

*Thank the sky's God: his kindness lasts forever.
