Chapter 68

KJV: Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered: let them also that hate him flee before him.

Geneva: To him that excelleth. A Psalme or song of Dauid. God will arise, and his enemies shalbe scattered: they also that hate him, shall flee before him.

KJV: As smoke is driven away, so drive them away: as wax melteth before the fire, so let the wicked perish at the presence of God.

Geneva: As the smoke vanisheth, so shalt thou driue them away: and as waxe melteth before the fire, so shall the wicked perish at the presence of God.

KJV: But let the righteous be glad; let them rejoice before God: yea, let them exceedingly rejoice.

Geneva: But the righteous shalbe glad, and reioyce before God: yea, they shall leape for ioye.

KJV: Sing unto God, sing praises to his name: extol him that rideth upon the heavens by his name JAH, and rejoice before him.

Geneva: Sing vnto God, and sing prayses vnto his name: exalt him that rideth vpon the heauens, in his Name Iah, and reioyce before him.

KJV: A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, is God in his holy habitation.

Geneva: He is a Father of the fatherlesse, & a Iudge of the widowes, euen God in his holy habitation.

KJV: God setteth the solitary in families: he bringeth out those which are bound with chains: but the rebellious dwell in a dry land.

Geneva: God maketh the solitarie to dwell in families, and deliuereth them that were prisoners in stocks: but the rebellious shal dwell in a dry land.

KJV: O God, when thou wentest forth before thy people, when thou didst march through the wilderness; Selah:

Geneva: O God, when thou wentest forth before thy people: when thou wentest through the wildernesse, (Selah)

KJV: The earth shook, the heavens also dropped at the presence of God: even Sinai itself was moved at the presence of God, the God of Israel.

Geneva: The earth shooke, and the heauens dropped at the presence of this God: euen Sinai was moued at the presence of God, euen the God of Israel.

KJV: Thou, O God, didst send a plentiful rain, whereby thou didst confirm thine inheritance, when it was weary.

Geneva: Thou, O God, sendest a gracious raine vpon thine inheritance, and thou didest refresh it when it was wearie.

KJV: Thy congregation hath dwelt therein: thou, O God, hast prepared of thy goodness for the poor.

Geneva: Thy Congregation dwelled therein: for thou, O God, hast of thy goodnesse prepared it for the poore.

KJV: The Lord gave the word: great was the company of those that published it.

Geneva: The Lorde gaue matter to the women to tell of the great armie.

KJV: Kings of armies did flee apace: and she that tarried at home divided the spoil.

Geneva: Kings of the armies did flee: they did flee, and she that remained in the house, deuided the spoyle.

KJV: Though ye have lien among the pots, yet shall ye be as the wings of a dove covered with silver, and her feathers with yellow gold.

Geneva: Though ye haue lien among pots, yet shal ye be as the winges of a doue that is couered with siluer, and whose fethers are like yelowe golde.

KJV: When the Almighty scattered kings in it, it was white as snow in Salmon.

Geneva: When the Almightie scattered Kings in it, it was white as the snowe in Zalmon.

KJV: The hill of God is as the hill of Bashan; an high hill as the hill of Bashan.

Geneva: The mountaine of God is like the mountaine of Bashan: it is an high Mountaine, as mount Bashan.

KJV: Why leap ye, ye high hills? this is the hill which God desireth to dwell in; yea, the LORD will dwell in it for ever.

Geneva: Why leape ye, ye high mountaines? as for this Mountaine, God deliteth to dwell in it: yea, the Lord will dwell in it for euer.

KJV: The chariots of God are twenty thousand, even thousands of angels: the Lord is among them, as in Sinai, in the holy place.

Geneva: The charets of God are twentie thousande thousand Angels, and the Lord is among them, as in the Sanctuarie of Sinai.

KJV: Thou hast ascended on high, thou hast led captivity captive: thou hast received gifts for men; yea, for the rebellious also, that the LORD God might dwell among them.

Geneva: Thou art gone vp on high: thou hast led captiuitie captiue, and receiued giftes for men: yea, euen the rebellious hast thou led, that the Lorde God might dwell there.

KJV: Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah.

Geneva: Praysed be the Lorde, euen the God of our saluation, which ladeth vs dayly with benefites. Selah.

KJV: He that is our God is the God of salvation; and unto GOD the Lord belong the issues from death.

Geneva: This is our God, euen the God that saueth vs: and to the Lord God belong the issues of death.

KJV: But God shall wound the head of his enemies, and the hairy scalp of such an one as goeth on still in his trespasses.

Geneva: Surely God will wound the head of his enemies, and the hearie pate of him that walketh in his sinnes.

KJV: The Lord said, I will bring again from Bashan, I will bring my people again from the depths of the sea:

Geneva: The Lord hath sayde, I will bring my people againe from Bashan: I will bring them againe from the depths of the Sea:

KJV: That thy foot may be dipped in the blood of thine enemies, and the tongue of thy dogs in the same.

Geneva: That thy foote may bee dipped in blood, and the tongue of thy dogges in the blood of the enemies, euen in it.

KJV: They have seen thy goings, O God; even the goings of my God, my King, in the sanctuary.

Geneva: They haue seene, O God, thy goings, the goings of my God, and my King, which art in the Sanctuarie.

KJV: The singers went before, the players on instruments followed after; among them were the damsels playing with timbrels.

Geneva: The singers went before, the players of instruments after: in the middes were the maides playing with timbrels.

KJV: Bless ye God in the congregations, even the Lord, from the fountain of Israel.

Geneva: Praise yee God in the assemblies, and the Lord, ye that are of the fountaine of Israel.

KJV: There is little Benjamin with their ruler, the princes of Judah and their council, the princes of Zebulun, and the princes of Naphtali.

Geneva: There was litle Beniamin with their ruler, and the princes of Iudah with their assemblie, the princes of Zebulun, and the princes of Naphtali.

KJV: Thy God hath commanded thy strength: strengthen, O God, that which thou hast wrought for us.

Geneva: Thy God hath appointed thy strength: stablish, O God, that, which thou hast wrought in vs,

KJV: Because of thy temple at Jerusalem shall kings bring presents unto thee.

Geneva: Out of thy Temple vpon Ierusalem: and Kings shall bring presents vnto thee.

KJV: Rebuke the company of spearmen, the multitude of the bulls, with the calves of the people, till every one submit himself with pieces of silver: scatter thou the people that delight in war.

Geneva: Destroy the company of the spearemen, & multitude of the mightie bulles with the calues of the people, that tread vnder feete pieces of siluer: scatter the people that delite in warre.

KJV: Princes shall come out of Egypt; Ethiopia shall soon stretch out her hands unto God.

Geneva: Then shall the princes come out of Egypt: Ethiopia shall hast to stretche her hands vnto God.

KJV: Sing unto God, ye kingdoms of the earth; O sing praises unto the Lord; Selah:

Geneva: Sing vnto God, O yee kingdomes of the earth: sing praise vnto the Lord, (Selah)

KJV: To him that rideth upon the heavens of heavens, which were of old; lo, he doth send out his voice, and that a mighty voice.

Geneva: To him that rideth vpon ye most high heauens, which were from the beginning: beholde, he will send out by his voice a mightie sound.

KJV: Ascribe ye strength unto God: his excellency is over Israel, and his strength is in the clouds.

Geneva: Ascribe the power to God: for his maiestie is vpon Israel, and his strength is in the cloudes.

KJV: O God, thou art terrible out of thy holy places: the God of Israel is he that giveth strength and power unto his people. Blessed be God.
