Chapter 50

KJV: The mighty God, even the LORD, hath spoken, and called the earth from the rising of the sun unto the going down thereof.

Geneva: A Psalme of Asaph. The God of Gods, euen the Lord hath spoken and called the earth from the rising vp of the sunne vnto the going downe thereof.

KJV: Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God hath shined.

Geneva: Out of Zion, which is the perfection of beautie, hath God shined.

KJV: Our God shall come, and shall not keep silence: a fire shall devour before him, and it shall be very tempestuous round about him.

Geneva: Our God shall come and shall not keepe silence: a fire shall deuoure before him, & a mightie tempest shall be mooued round about him.

KJV: He shall call to the heavens from above, and to the earth, that he may judge his people.

Geneva: Hee shall call the heauen aboue, and the earth to iudge his people.

KJV: Gather my saints together unto me; those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice.

Geneva: Gather my Saints together vnto me, those that make a couenant with me with sacrifice.

KJV: And the heavens shall declare his righteousness: for God is judge himself. Selah.

Geneva: And the heauens shall declare his righteousnes: for God is iudge himselfe. Selah.

KJV: Hear, O my people, and I will speak; O Israel, and I will testify against thee: I am God, even thy God.

Geneva: Heare, O my people, and I wil speake: heare, O Israel, and I wil testifie vnto thee: for I am God, euen thy God.

KJV: I will not reprove thee for thy sacrifices or thy burnt offerings, to have been continually before me.

Geneva: I wil not reproue thee for thy sacrifices, or thy burnt offerings, that haue not bene continually before me.

KJV: I will take no bullock out of thy house, nor he goats out of thy folds.

Geneva: I will take no bullocke out of thine house, nor goates out of thy foldes.

KJV: For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills.

Geneva: For all the beastes of the forest are mine, and the beastes on a thousand mountaines.

KJV: I know all the fowls of the mountains: and the wild beasts of the field are mine.

Geneva: I knowe all the foules on the mountaines: and the wilde beastes of the fielde are mine.

KJV: If I were hungry, I would not tell thee: for the world is mine, and the fulness thereof.

Geneva: If I bee hungry, I will not tell thee: for the world is mine, and all that therein is.

KJV: Will I eat the flesh of bulls, or drink the blood of goats?

Geneva: Will I eate the flesh of bulles? or drinke the blood of goates?

KJV: Offer unto God thanksgiving; and pay thy vows unto the most High:

Geneva: Offer vnto God praise, and pay thy vowes vnto the most High,

KJV: And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.

Geneva: And call vpon me in the day of trouble: so will I deliuer thee, and thou shalt glorifie me.

KJV: But unto the wicked God saith, What hast thou to do to declare my statutes, or that thou shouldest take my covenant in thy mouth?

Geneva: But vnto the wicked said God, What hast thou to doe to declare mine ordinances, that thou shouldest take my couenant in thy mouth,

KJV: Seeing thou hatest instruction, and casteth my words behind thee.

Geneva: Seeing thou hatest to bee reformed, and hast cast my wordes behinde thee?

KJV: When thou sawest a thief, then thou consentedst with him, and hast been partaker with adulterers.

Geneva: For when thou seest a thiefe, thou runnest with him, & thou art partaker with the adulterers.

KJV: Thou givest thy mouth to evil, and thy tongue frameth deceit.

Geneva: Thou giuest thy mouth to euill, and with thy tongue thou forgest deceit.

KJV: Thou sittest and speakest against thy brother; thou slanderest thine own mother’s son.

Geneva: Thou sittest, and speakest against thy brother, and slanderest thy mothers sonne.

KJV: These things hast thou done, and I kept silence; thou thoughtest that I was altogether such an one as thyself: but I will reprove thee, and set them in order before thine eyes.

Geneva: These things hast thou done, and I held my tongue: therefore thou thoughtest that I was like thee: but I will reproue thee, and set them in order before thee.

KJV: Now consider this, ye that forget God, lest I tear you in pieces, and there be none to deliver.

Geneva: Oh cosider this, ye that forget God, least I teare you in pieces, & there be none that can deliuer you.

KJV: Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me: and to him that ordereth his conversation aright will I shew the salvation of God.

Geneva: He that offereth praise, shall glorifie mee: and to him, that disposeth his way aright, will I shew the saluation of God.
