Chapter 113

1 Praise ye the LORD. Praise, O ye servants of the LORD, praise the name of the LORD.

*Praise the Lord. You, Lord's servants, praise the Lord's name.

2 Blessed be the name of the LORD from this time forth and for evermore.

*Praised is the name of God now and forever.

3 From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same the LORD’s name is to be praised.

*From sunrise to sunset, we should praise the Lord's name.

4 The LORD is high above all nations, and his glory above the heavens.

*God is higher than everyone and everything, and His greatness shines brighter than the stars.

5 Who is like unto the LORD our God, who dwelleth on high,

*Who is similar to our God, living up high?

6 Who humbleth himself to behold the things that are in heaven, and in the earth!

*Who is humble and looks at the things in heaven and on Earth!

7 He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth the needy out of the dunghill;

*He lifts the poor from the ground and raises the needy from the garbage pile.

8 That he may set him with princes, even with the princes of his people.

*So that he can place him among important leaders, with the leaders of his own people.

9 He maketh the barren woman to keep house, and to be a joyful mother of children. Praise ye the LORD.

*He makes childless women into happy mothers of many kids and helps them enjoy being home. Praise the Lord.
