Chapter 128

1 Blessed is every one that feareth the LORD; that walketh in his ways.

*Blessed are all those who fear the Lord, and follow His path.

2 For thou shalt eat the labour of thine hands: happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee.

*You will enjoy what you work for, and be happy and successful.

3 Thy wife shall be as a fruitful vine by the sides of thine house: thy children like olive plants round about thy table.

*Your wife will be like a productive vine next to your home, and your children will be like olive trees surrounding your dining area.

4 Behold, that thus shall the man be blessed that feareth the LORD.

*Look, the person who fears God will be blessed like this.

5 The LORD shall bless thee out of Zion: and thou shalt see the good of Jerusalem all the days of thy life.

*The Lord will bless you from Zion, and you will see the goodness of Jerusalem throughout your entire life.

6 Yea, thou shalt see thy children’s children, and peace upon Israel.

*Yes, you will see your grandchildren, and peace in Israel.
