They compassed me about; yea, they compassed me about: but in the name of the LORD I will destroy them.
*They surrounded me completely, but in the Lord's name, I will defeat them.
12
They compassed me about like bees; they are quenched as the fire of thorns: for in the name of the LORD I will destroy them.
*They surrounded me like bees, but they'll be extinguished like fire from thorns. I'll destroy them in the name of the Lord.
13
Thou hast thrust sore at me that I might fall: but the LORD helped me.
*You severely attacked me to make me fail, but the Lord supported me.

The LORD is my strength and song, and is become my salvation.
*The LORD is my power and joy, and now my rescue.

Open to me the gates of righteousness: I will go into them, and I will praise the LORD:
*Let me enter the doors of goodness; I'll walk through them and celebrate God's greatness.
20
This gate of the LORD, into which the righteous shall enter.
*This is the Lord's door that good people can go through.
