Chapter 71

KJV: In thee, O LORD, do I put my trust: let me never be put to confusion.

Geneva: In thee, O Lorde, I trust: let me neuer be ashamed.

KJV: Deliver me in thy righteousness, and cause me to escape: incline thine ear unto me, and save me.

Geneva: Rescue mee and deliuer me in thy righteousnes: incline thine eare vnto me and saue me.

KJV: Be thou my strong habitation, whereunto I may continually resort: thou hast given commandment to save me; for thou art my rock and my fortress.

Geneva: Be thou my strong rocke, whereunto I may alway resort: thou hast giuen commaundement to saue me: for thou art my rocke, & my fortresse.

KJV: Deliver me, O my God, out of the hand of the wicked, out of the hand of the unrighteous and cruel man.

Geneva: Deliuer mee, O my God, out of the hande of the wicked: out of the hande of the euill and cruell man.

KJV: For thou art my hope, O Lord GOD: thou art my trust from my youth.

Geneva: For thou art mine hope, O Lord God, euen my trust from my youth.

KJV: By thee have I been holden up from the womb: thou art he that took me out of my mother’s bowels: my praise shall be continually of thee.

Geneva: Vpon thee haue I beene stayed from the wombe: thou art he that tooke me out of my mothers bowels: my praise shalbe alwaies of thee.

KJV: I am as a wonder unto many; but thou art my strong refuge.

Geneva: I am become as it were a monster vnto many: but thou art my sure trust.

KJV: Let my mouth be filled with thy praise and with thy honour all the day.

Geneva: Let my mouth be filled with thy praise, and with thy glory euery day.

KJV: Cast me not off in the time of old age; forsake me not when my strength faileth.

Geneva: Cast mee not off in the time of age: forsake me not when my strength faileth.

KJV: For mine enemies speak against me; and they that lay wait for my soul take counsel together,

Geneva: For mine enemies speake of mee, and they that lay waite for my soule, take their counsell together,

KJV: Saying, God hath forsaken him: persecute and take him; for there is none to deliver him.

Geneva: Saying, God hath forsaken him: pursue and take him, for there is none to deliuer him.

KJV: O God, be not far from me: O my God, make haste for my help.

Geneva: Goe not farre from me, O God: my God, haste thee to helpe me.

KJV: Let them be confounded and consumed that are adversaries to my soul; let them be covered with reproach and dishonour that seek my hurt.

Geneva: Let them be confounded & consumed that are against my soule: let them be couered with reproofe and confusion, that seeke mine hurt.

KJV: But I will hope continually, and will yet praise thee more and more.

Geneva: But I will waite continually, and will praise thee more and more.

KJV: My mouth shall shew forth thy righteousness and thy salvation all the day; for I know not the numbers thereof.

Geneva: My mouth shall daily rehearse thy righteousnesse, and thy saluation: for I knowe not the nomber.

KJV: I will go in the strength of the Lord GOD: I will make mention of thy righteousness, even of thine only.

Geneva: I will goe forwarde in the strength of the Lord God, and will make mention of thy righteousnesse, euen of thine onely.

KJV: O God, thou hast taught me from my youth: and hitherto have I declared thy wondrous works.

Geneva: O God, thou hast taught me fro my youth euen vntill nowe: therefore will I tell of thy wonderous workes,

KJV: Now also when I am old and greyheaded, O God, forsake me not; until I have shewed thy strength unto this generation, and thy power to every one that is to come.

Geneva: Yea, euen vnto mine olde age and graie head, O God: forsake me not, vntill I haue declared thine arme vnto this generation, and thy power to all them, that shall come.

KJV: Thy righteousness also, O God, is very high, who hast done great things: O God, who is like unto thee!

Geneva: And thy righteousnes, O God, I wil exalt on high: for thou hast done great thinges: O God, who is like vnto thee!

KJV: Thou, which hast shewed me great and sore troubles, shalt quicken me again, and shalt bring me up again from the depths of the earth.

Geneva: Which hast shewed me great troubles and aduersities, but thou wilt returne, and reuiue me, and wilt come againe, and take mee vp from the depth of the earth.

KJV: Thou shalt increase my greatness, and comfort me on every side.

Geneva: Thou wilt increase mine honour, & returne and comfort me.

KJV: I will also praise thee with the psaltery, even thy truth, O my God: unto thee will I sing with the harp, O thou Holy One of Israel.

Geneva: Therefore will I praise thee for thy faithfulnesse, O God, vpon instrument and viole: vnto thee will I sing vpon the harpe, O Holy one of Israel.

KJV: My lips shall greatly rejoice when I sing unto thee; and my soul, which thou hast redeemed.

Geneva: My lippes will reioyce when I sing vnto thee, and my soule, which thou hast deliuered.

KJV: My tongue also shall talk of thy righteousness all the day long: for they are confounded, for they are brought unto shame, that seek my hurt.

Geneva: My tongue also shal talke of thy righteousnesse daily: for they are confounded and brought vnto shame, that seeke mine hurt.
