Paul, a captive for Jesus, and Timothy, our brother, greet Philemon, our dear friend and partner in work.

Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:

Jesus saved us from the punishment of the rules by becoming cursed himself; this is because it says in the scriptures that anyone hung on a tree is cursed.

And now, Lord, remove from the earth the corrupt flesh that angers You. But preserve the righteous and upright, let them be like a planted garden of eternal descendants. Do not turn away from the prayers of Your servant, Lord.

This is the spirit of Abel, whom his brother Cain killed. Abel's spirit accuses Cain until Cain's descendants are wiped out from the earth and no longer exist among humanity.
