1
The earth is the LORD’s, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.
*The Earth belongs to the LORD, along with everything in it; the world and all who live in it also belong to Him.
2
For he hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods.
*He has built it on the seas and made it strong on the big waters.
3
Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? or who shall stand in his holy place?
*Who can go up to God's mountain? or who can stand in his sacred spot?
4
He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.
*He who has clean hands and a pure heart, without lifting his soul to emptiness or swearing falsely.
5
He shall receive the blessing from the LORD, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.
*He will get blessings from God and righteousness from his saving God.
6
This is the generation of them that seek him, that seek thy face, O Jacob. Selah.
*This is the time when people search for God, wanting to see His presence, O Israel. Stop and think about it.
7
Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.
*Raise yourselves, you gates; and you eternal doors, raise yourselves too; then the King of greatness will enter.
8
Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle.
*Who is this great King? It's the powerful LORD, the LORD who is strong in fights.
9
Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.
*Raise yourselves up, gates; raise yourselves up, eternal doors; so the King of glory can enter.
10
Who is this King of glory? The LORD of hosts, he is the King of glory. Selah.
*Who is this great ruler? It's the LORD with many helpers; He is the great ruler. Pause and think about that.
