Of the children of Joseph, namely, of the children of Ephraim, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;

This verse talks about the children of Joseph, specifically those from the tribe of Ephraim. It describes them based on their family groups and the heads of their families. The list includes men aged 20 and above who were capable of fighting in wars.
