Tells about the Israelites' 40 years in the desert, including their travels and the census of their tribes.

Chapter 28

1 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

2 Command the children of Israel, and say unto them, My offering, and my bread for my sacrifices made by fire, for a sweet savour unto me, shall ye observe to offer unto me in their due season.

*Tell the people of Israel: My special offering and bread for my fire sacrifices, which smell good to me, should be offered by you at the right time.

3 And thou shalt say unto them, This is the offering made by fire which ye shall offer unto the LORD; two lambs of the first year without spot day by day, for a continual burnt offering.

*You should tell them, "This is the fire offering you must give to God: every day, two flawless one-year-old lambs for continuous burning sacrifice."

4 The one lamb shalt thou offer in the morning, and the other lamb shalt thou offer at even;

*Offer one lamb in the morning and another lamb in the evening.

5 And a tenth part of an ephah of flour for a meat offering, mingled with the fourth part of an hin of beaten oil.

*Add one-tenth of an ephah of flour and mix it with one-fourth of a hin of beaten oil for a meat offering.

6 It is a continual burnt offering, which was ordained in mount Sinai for a sweet savour, a sacrifice made by fire unto the LORD.

*This verse means that there is an ongoing offering, set up at Mount Sinai, that has a pleasant smell when burned. It is a sacrifice offered to God through fire.

7 And the drink offering thereof shall be the fourth part of an hin for the one lamb: in the holy place shalt thou cause the strong wine to be poured unto the LORD for a drink offering.

*For one lamb, give a fourth of a hin of strong wine as a drink offering in the holy place to the LORD.

8 And the other lamb shalt thou offer at even: as the meat offering of the morning, and as the drink offering thereof, thou shalt offer it, a sacrifice made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the LORD.

*Offer another lamb in the evening, just like the morning's meat offering, along with its drink offering. Present it as a fire sacrifice with a pleasing aroma to God.

9 And on the sabbath day two lambs of the first year without spot, and two tenth deals of flour for a meat offering, mingled with oil, and the drink offering thereof:

*On the Sabbath day, offer two young, flawless lambs and two portions of finely ground flour mixed with oil as a meal offering. Also, provide the accompanying drink offering.

10 This is the burnt offering of every sabbath, beside the continual burnt offering, and his drink offering.

*This is the offering burned each Sabbath, along with the constant offering, and its drinking offering.

11 And in the beginnings of your months ye shall offer a burnt offering unto the LORD; two young bullocks, and one ram, seven lambs of the first year without spot;

*At the start of each month, give a sacrifice to God: two young bulls, one ram, and seven spotless one-year-old lambs.

12 And three tenth deals of flour for a meat offering, mingled with oil, for one bullock; and two tenth deals of flour for a meat offering, mingled with oil, for one ram;

*For a special meat dish, mix 3/10 cup of flour with oil for a bullock, and 2/10 cup of flour with oil for a ram.

13 And a several tenth deal of flour mingled with oil for a meat offering unto one lamb; for a burnt offering of a sweet savour, a sacrifice made by fire unto the LORD.

*Mix some flour and oil for a meat offering to one lamb. This is a burnt offering with a nice smell, a fire sacrifice to God.

14 And their drink offerings shall be half an hin of wine unto a bullock, and the third part of an hin unto a ram, and a fourth part of an hin unto a lamb: this is the burnt offering of every month throughout the months of the year.

*The drink offerings for these sacrifices are: half a small container for a bull, one-third of a small container for a sheep, and one-fourth of a small container for a lamb. This is the monthly burnt offering for all months in a year.

15 And one kid of the goats for a sin offering unto the LORD shall be offered, beside the continual burnt offering, and his drink offering.

*A goat kid should be given for a sin offering to God, along with the regular burned offering, and its drink offering too.

16 And in the fourteenth day of the first month is the passover of the LORD.

*On the 14th day of the first month, it's the LORD's Passover.

17 And in the fifteenth day of this month is the feast: seven days shall unleavened bread be eaten.

*On the 15th day of the month, there's a festival: for seven days, eat only bread without yeast.

18 In the first day shall be an holy convocation; ye shall do no manner of servile work therein:

*On the first day, there will be a special gathering; you must not do any kind of regular work.

19 But ye shall offer a sacrifice made by fire for a burnt offering unto the LORD; two young bullocks, and one ram, and seven lambs of the first year: they shall be unto you without blemish:

*But you must give a fire sacrifice to God as a burnt offering: two young bulls and one male sheep, along with seven baby lambs; they must all be perfect and without any flaws.

20 And their meat offering shall be of flour mingled with oil: three tenth deals shall ye offer for a bullock, and two tenth deals for a ram;

*Their food offering should be made from mixed flour and oil. For a bullock, give three parts of the mixture, and for a ram, give two parts.

21 A several tenth deal shalt thou offer for every lamb, throughout the seven lambs:

*Offer a tenth share for each of the seven lambs.

22 And one goat for a sin offering, to make an atonement for you.

*And one goat to forgive your wrongs, to make things right between you and God.

23 Ye shall offer these beside the burnt offering in the morning, which is for a continual burnt offering.

*You will present these alongside the morning sacrifice, which is an ongoing daily burned offering.

24 After this manner ye shall offer daily, throughout the seven days, the meat of the sacrifice made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the LORD: it shall be offered beside the continual burnt offering, and his drink offering.

*In this way, each day for seven days, you should offer the cooked sacrifice as a pleasing smell to God. It will be presented along with the ongoing burnt offering and its drinking offering.

25 And on the seventh day ye shall have an holy convocation; ye shall do no servile work.

*On the seventh day, gather for a special meeting; don't do any ordinary tasks.

26 Also in the day of the firstfruits, when ye bring a new meat offering unto the LORD, after your weeks be out, ye shall have an holy convocation; ye shall do no servile work:

*On the special day when you offer a new food gift to God after seven weeks, you must gather together for a sacred meeting. Don't do any regular work.

27 But ye shall offer the burnt offering for a sweet savour unto the LORD; two young bullocks, one ram, seven lambs of the first year;

*But you must give the burning offering to make a good smell for God. You need two young bulls and one sheep, plus seven baby lambs from their first year.

28 And their meat offering of flour mingled with oil, three tenth deals unto one bullock, two tenth deals unto one ram,

*The meat offering made from flour mixed with oil: For one bullock, give three tenths; for one ram, give two tenths.

29 A several tenth deal unto one lamb, throughout the seven lambs;

*Give about 10% of one lamb to another lamb out of the total seven lambs;

30 And one kid of the goats, to make an atonement for you.

*And one goat's child will help cleanse you.

31 Ye shall offer them beside the continual burnt offering, and his meat offering, (they shall be unto you without blemish) and their drink offerings.

*You will present them alongside the regular burned offering and meat offering. They must be perfect; then give them their drink offerings too.
