Chapter LII Summary
Enoch saw mountains of iron, copper, silver, gold, soft metal, and lead. He asked the angel about these mountains. The angel said they would serve the Messiah to make him powerful on earth. The angel told Enoch to wait and he would see more secrets. The angel said these mountains would be like wax before fire when the Messiah comes. The mountains will be powerless before him. People won't be saved by gold or silver. There will be no iron for war or armor. Bronze, tin, and lead will be useless. These things will be destroyed when the Messiah appears before God.
I saw with my own eyes all the hidden things of heaven that are yet to come: a mountain made of iron, a mountain made of copper, a mountain made of silver, a mountain made of gold, a mountain made of tin, and a mountain made of lead.
3I asked the angel who was with me, "What are these things that I have seen in secret?"
4He told me, "Everything you've seen will support the rule of God's chosen leader, so he can be powerful and strong on earth."
5The angel of peace replied, "Be patient, and you will see all the hidden things around the Lord of Spirits."
6These mountains you see-the ones made of iron, copper, silver, gold, tin, and lead-will be as weak as wax in front of a fire when the Chosen One arrives. They'll be like water flowing downhill, and they won't be able to stand against him.
7In those days, no one will be saved by gold or silver, and no one will be able to escape. There will be no iron for weapons, and no one will wear armor. Bronze and tin will be useless, and lead will not be wanted. All these things will be destroyed from the earth when the Chosen One appears before the Lord of Spirits.
