Chapter CVII Summary
Enoch tells Methuselah that people will keep sinning until a good generation comes. Then, sin will be gone, and good things will happen. Enoch tells Methuselah to go tell Lamech that the baby is really his son. It's not a lie. Methuselah listens to Enoch. He tells Lamech what Enoch said. They name the baby Noah. Noah will make the earth better after everything is destroyed.
I saw written on them that people will keep sinning for many generations until a righteous generation comes, and then sin will be destroyed, evil will leave the earth, and only good things will happen.
And now, my son, go and tell your son Lamech that this child who has been born is truly his son, and that this is not a lie.
When Methuselah heard his father Enoch's words-since Enoch had revealed everything to him in private-he went back and shared it with Enoch. They named the child Noah, because he would bring comfort to the earth after all the destruction.
