Chapter III Summary

In winter, most trees lose their leaves. But fourteen trees do not. They keep their old leaves for two or three years. They do not lose them until new leaves grow.

Watch and notice how in winter, all the trees appear to have withered and dropped all their leaves, except for fourteen trees. These special trees don't lose their leaves but keep the old ones for two or three years until the new ones grow.
