Chapter IV Summary

The sun is high in the sky during summer. It gets very hot. People look for shade to stay cool. The earth gets too hot to walk on. Even rocks are too hot to touch.

And again, notice the summer days when the sun is directly above the earth. You seek shade and shelter because of the sun's heat, and the earth also becomes too hot to walk on, whether on the ground or on rocks.
