Describes how Moses leads the Israelites out of Egypt and slavery, and how they receive laws from God.

Chapter 36

KJV: Then wrought Bezaleel and Aholiab, and every wise hearted man, in whom the LORD put wisdom and understanding to know how to work all manner of work for the service of the sanctuary, according to all that the LORD had commanded.

Geneva: Then wrought Bezaleel, and Aholiab, and all cunning men, to whome the Lorde gaue wisedome, and vnderstanding, to knowe howe to worke all maner worke for the seruice of the Sanctuarie, according to all that the Lorde had commanded.

KJV: And Moses called Bezaleel and Aholiab, and every wise hearted man, in whose heart the LORD had put wisdom, even every one whose heart stirred him up to come unto the work to do it:

Geneva: For Moses had called Bezaleel, and Aholiab, and all the wise hearted men, in whose heartes the Lorde had giuen wisedome, euen as many as their hearts encouraged to come vnto that worke to worke it.

KJV: And they received of Moses all the offering, which the children of Israel had brought for the work of the service of the sanctuary, to make it withal. And they brought yet unto him free offerings every morning.

Geneva: And they receiued of Moses all the offering which the children of Israel had brought for the worke of the seruice of the Sanctuary, to make it: also they brought still vnto him free giftes euery morning.

KJV: And all the wise men, that wrought all the work of the sanctuary, came every man from his work which they made;

Geneva: So all the wise men, that wrought all the holy worke, came euery man from his worke which they wrought,

KJV: And they spake unto Moses, saying, The people bring much more than enough for the service of the work, which the LORD commanded to make.

Geneva: And spake to Moses, saying, The people bring too much, and more then ynough for the vse of the worke, which the Lord hath commanded to be made.

KJV: And Moses gave commandment, and they caused it to be proclaimed throughout the camp, saying, Let neither man nor woman make any more work for the offering of the sanctuary. So the people were restrained from bringing.

Geneva: Then Moses gaue a commandement, and they caused it to be proclaymed throughout the hoste, saying, Let neither man nor woman prepare any more worke for the oblation of the Sanctuarie. So the people were stayed from offring.

KJV: For the stuff they had was sufficient for all the work to make it, and too much.

Geneva: For the stuffe they had, was sufficient for all the worke to make it, and too much.

KJV: And every wise hearted man among them that wrought the work of the tabernacle made ten curtains of fine twined linen, and blue, and purple, and scarlet: with cherubims of cunning work made he them.

Geneva: All the cunning men therefore among the workemen, made for the Tabernacle ten curtaines of fine twined linnen, and of blewe silke, and purple, and skarlet: Cherubims of broydred worke made they vpon them.

KJV: The length of one curtain was twenty and eight cubits, and the breadth of one curtain four cubits: the curtains were all of one size.

Geneva: The length of one curtaine was twentie & eight cubits, & the breadth of one curtaine foure cubites: and the curtaines were all of one cise.

KJV: And he coupled the five curtains one unto another: and the other five curtains he coupled one unto another.

Geneva: And he coupled fiue curtaines together, & other fiue coupled he together.

KJV: And he made loops of blue on the edge of one curtain from the selvedge in the coupling: likewise he made in the uttermost side of another curtain, in the coupling of the second.

Geneva: And he made strings of blewe silke by the edge of one curtaine, in the seluedge of the coupling: likewise he made on the side of the other curtaine in the seluedge in the second coupling.

KJV: Fifty loops made he in one curtain, and fifty loops made he in the edge of the curtain which was in the coupling of the second: the loops held one curtain to another.

Geneva: Fiftie strings made he in the one curtaine, and fiftie strings made he in the edge of the other curtaine, which was in the second coupling: the strings were set one against another.

KJV: And he made fifty taches of gold, and coupled the curtains one unto another with the taches: so it became one tabernacle.

Geneva: After, he made fiftie taches of golde, and coupled the curtaines one to another with the taches: so was it one Tabernacle.

KJV: And he made curtains of goats’ hair for the tent over the tabernacle: eleven curtains he made them.

Geneva: Also he made curtaines of goates heare for the couering vpon the Tabernacle: he made them to the nomber of eleuen curtaines.

KJV: The length of one curtain was thirty cubits, and four cubits was the breadth of one curtain: the eleven curtains were of one size.

Geneva: The length of one curtaine had thirtie cubites, & the bredth of one curtaine foure cubites: the eleuen curtaines were of one cise.

KJV: And he coupled five curtains by themselves, and six curtains by themselves.

Geneva: And hee coupled fiue curtaines by themselues, and sixe curtaines by themselues:

KJV: And he made fifty loops upon the uttermost edge of the curtain in the coupling, and fifty loops made he upon the edge of the curtain which coupleth the second.

Geneva: Also he made fiftie strings vpon the edge of one curtaine in the seluedge in the coupling, & fiftie strings made hee vpon the edge of the other curtaine in the second coupling.

KJV: And he made fifty taches of brass to couple the tent together, that it might be one.

Geneva: He made also fiftie taches of brasse to couple the couering that it might be one.

KJV: And he made a covering for the tent of rams’ skins dyed red, and a covering of badgers’ skins above that.

Geneva: And he made a couering vpon the pauilion of rams skinnes dyed red, and a couering of badgers skinnes aboue.

KJV: And he made boards for the tabernacle of shittim wood, standing up.

Geneva: Likewise he made the boards for the Tabernacle, of Shittim wood to stand vp.

KJV: The length of a board was ten cubits, and the breadth of a board one cubit and a half.

Geneva: The length of a board was ten cubites, and the bredth of one board was a cubite, & an halfe.

KJV: One board had two tenons, equally distant one from another: thus did he make for all the boards of the tabernacle.

Geneva: One board had two tenons, set in order as the feete of a ladder, one against another: thus made he for all the boardes of the Tabernacle.

KJV: And he made boards for the tabernacle; twenty boards for the south side southward:

Geneva: So he made twentie boardes for the South side of the Tabernacle, euen full South.

KJV: And forty sockets of silver he made under the twenty boards; two sockets under one board for his two tenons, and two sockets under another board for his two tenons.

Geneva: And fourtie sockets of siluer made he vnder the twentie boardes, two sockets vnder one board for his two tenons, and two sockets vnder another board for his two tenons.

KJV: And for the other side of the tabernacle, which is toward the north corner, he made twenty boards,

Geneva: Also for the other side of the Tabernacle toward the North, he made twentie boards,

KJV: And their forty sockets of silver; two sockets under one board, and two sockets under another board.

Geneva: And their fourtie sockets of siluer, two sockets vnder one board, and two sockets vnder another boarde.

KJV: And for the sides of the tabernacle westward he made six boards.

Geneva: Likewise toward the Westside of the Tabernacle he made sixe boardes.

KJV: And two boards made he for the corners of the tabernacle in the two sides.

Geneva: And two boardes made he in the corners of the Tabernacle, for either side,

KJV: And they were coupled beneath, and coupled together at the head thereof, to one ring: thus he did to both of them in both the corners.

Geneva: And they were ioyned beneath, and likewise were made sure aboue with a ring: thus he did to both in both corners.

KJV: And there were eight boards; and their sockets were sixteen sockets of silver, under every board two sockets.

Geneva: So there were eight boards & their sixteene sockets of siluer, vnder euery board two sockets.

KJV: And he made bars of shittim wood; five for the boards of the one side of the tabernacle,

Geneva: After, he made barres of Shittim wood, fiue for the boards in ye one side of ye Tabernacle,

KJV: And five bars for the boards of the other side of the tabernacle, and five bars for the boards of the tabernacle for the sides westward.

Geneva: And fiue barres for the boardes in the other side of the Tabernacle, and fiue barres for the boards of the Tabernacle on the side toward the West.

KJV: And he made the middle bar to shoot through the boards from the one end to the other.

Geneva: And he made the middest barre to shoote through the boards, from the one end to ye other.

KJV: And he overlaid the boards with gold, and made their rings of gold to be places for the bars, and overlaid the bars with gold.

Geneva: He ouerlayd also the boards with gold, and made their rings of gold for places for the barres, and couered the barres with golde.

KJV: And he made a vail of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen: with cherubims made he it of cunning work.

Geneva: Moreouer he made a vaile of blew silke, and purple, & of skarlet, and of fine twined linen: with Cherubims of broydred worke made he it:

KJV: And he made thereunto four pillars of shittim wood, and overlaid them with gold: their hooks were of gold; and he cast for them four sockets of silver.

Geneva: And made thereunto foure pillars of Shittim, & ouerlayd them with golde: whose hookes were also of golde, and hee cast for them foure sockets of siluer.

KJV: And he made an hanging for the tabernacle door of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen, of needlework;

Geneva: And he made an hanging for the Tabernacle doore, of blew silke, & purple, and skarlet, and fine twined linnen, and needle worke,

KJV: And the five pillars of it with their hooks: and he overlaid their chapiters and their fillets with gold: but their five sockets were of brass.

Geneva: And the fiue pillars of it with their hookes, and ouerlayde their chapiters & their filets with golde, but their fiue sockets were of brasse.
