Describes how Moses leads the Israelites out of Egypt and slavery, and how they receive laws from God.

Chapter 39

KJV: And of the blue, and purple, and scarlet, they made cloths of service, to do service in the holy place, and made the holy garments for Aaron; as the LORD commanded Moses.

Geneva: Moreouer they made garments of ministration to minister in the Sanctuarie of blewe silke, and purple, and skarlet: they made also the holy garments for Aaron, as the Lord had comanded Moses.

KJV: And he made the ephod of gold, blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen.

Geneva: So he made the Ephod of gold, blewe silke, and purple, and skarlet, and fine twined linen.

KJV: And they did beat the gold into thin plates, and cut it into wires, to work it in the blue, and in the purple, and in the scarlet, and in the fine linen, with cunning work.

Geneva: And they did beate the golde into thinne plates, and cut it into wiers, to worke it in ye blewe silke and in the purple, and in the skarlet, and in the fine linen, with broydred worke.

KJV: They made shoulderpieces for it, to couple it together: by the two edges was it coupled together.

Geneva: For the which they made shoulders to couple together: for it was closed by the two edges thereof.

KJV: And the curious girdle of his ephod, that was upon it, was of the same, according to the work thereof; of gold, blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen; as the LORD commanded Moses.

Geneva: And the broydred garde of his Ephod that was vpon him, was of the same stuffe, and of like worke: euen of golde, of blewe silke, and purple, & skarlet, and fine twined linen, as the Lorde had commanded Moses.

KJV: And they wrought onyx stones inclosed in ouches of gold, graven, as signets are graven, with the names of the children of Israel.

Geneva: And they wrought two Onix stones closed in ouches of golde, and graued, as signets are grauen, with the names of the children of Israel,

KJV: And he put them on the shoulders of the ephod, that they should be stones for a memorial to the children of Israel; as the LORD commanded Moses.

Geneva: And put them on the shoulders of the Ephod, as stones for a remembrance of the children of Israel, as the Lorde had commaunded Moses.

KJV: And he made the breastplate of cunning work, like the work of the ephod; of gold, blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen.

Geneva: Also he made the brestplate of broydred worke like the worke of the Ephod: to wit, of gold, blewe silke, and purple, and skarlet, and fine twined linen.

KJV: It was foursquare; they made the breastplate double: a span was the length thereof, and a span the breadth thereof, being doubled.

Geneva: They made the brest plate double, & it was square, an hand breadth long, & an hand breadth broad: it was also double.

KJV: And they set in it four rows of stones: the first row was a sardius, a topaz, and a carbuncle: this was the first row.

Geneva: And they filled it with foure rowes of stones. The order was thus, a Rubie, a Topaze, & a Carbuncle in the first rowe:

KJV: And the second row, an emerald, a sapphire, and a diamond.

Geneva: And in the seconde rowe, an Emeraude, a Saphir, and a Diamond:

KJV: And the third row, a ligure, an agate, and an amethyst.

Geneva: Also in the thirde rowe, a Turkeis, an Achate, and an Hematite:

KJV: And the fourth row, a beryl, an onyx, and a jasper: they were inclosed in ouches of gold in their inclosings.

Geneva: Likewise in the fourth rowe, a Chrysolite, an Onix, and a Iasper: closed and set in ouches of golde.

KJV: And the stones were according to the names of the children of Israel, twelve, according to their names, like the engravings of a signet, every one with his name, according to the twelve tribes.

Geneva: So the stones were according to the names of the children of Israel, euen twelue after their names, grauen like signets euery one after his name according to the twelue tribes.

KJV: And they made upon the breastplate chains at the ends, of wreathen work of pure gold.

Geneva: After, they made vpon the brest plate cheines at the endes, of wrethen worke and pure golde.

KJV: And they made two ouches of gold, and two gold rings; and put the two rings in the two ends of the breastplate.

Geneva: They made also two bosses of golde, and two golde rings, and put the two rings in the two corners of the brest plate.

KJV: And they put the two wreathen chains of gold in the two rings on the ends of the breastplate.

Geneva: And they put ye two wrethe cheines of gold in the two rings, in the corners of the brest plate.

KJV: And the two ends of the two wreathen chains they fastened in the two ouches, and put them on the shoulderpieces of the ephod, before it.

Geneva: Also the two other endes of the two wrethen chaines they fastened in the two bosses, and put the on the shoulders of the Ephod vpon the forefront of it.

KJV: And they made two rings of gold, and put them on the two ends of the breastplate, upon the border of it, which was on the side of the ephod inward.

Geneva: Likewise they made two rings of gold, and put them in the two other corners of the brest plate vpon the edge of it, which was on the inside of the Ephod.

KJV: And they made two other golden rings, and put them on the two sides of the ephod underneath, toward the forepart of it, over against the other coupling thereof, above the curious girdle of the ephod.

Geneva: They made also two other golden rings, & put them on the two sides of the Ephod, beneath on the foreside of it, & ouer against his coupling aboue the broydered garde of the Ephod.

KJV: And they did bind the breastplate by his rings unto the rings of the ephod with a lace of blue, that it might be above the curious girdle of the ephod, and that the breastplate might not be loosed from the ephod; as the LORD commanded Moses.

Geneva: Then they fastened the brest plate by his rings vnto the rings of the Ephod, with a lace of blewe silke, that it might bee fast vpon the broydered garde of the Ephod, and that the brest plate should not be loosed fro the Ephod, as the Lorde had commanded Moses.

KJV: And he made the robe of the ephod of woven work, all of blue.

Geneva: Moreouer, he made the robe of the Ephod of wouen worke, altogether of blewe silke.

KJV: And there was an hole in the midst of the robe, as the hole of an habergeon, with a band round about the hole, that it should not rend.

Geneva: And the hole of the robe was in the middes of it, as the coller of an habergeon, with an edge about the coller, that it shoulde not rent.

KJV: And they made upon the hems of the robe pomegranates of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and twined linen.

Geneva: And they made vpon the skirts of the robe pomegranates, of blewe silke, and purple, and skarlet, and fine linen twined.

KJV: And they made bells of pure gold, and put the bells between the pomegranates upon the hem of the robe, round about between the pomegranates;

Geneva: They made also belles of pure gold and put the belles betweene the pomegranates vpon the skirtes of the robe rounde about betweene the pomegranates.

KJV: A bell and a pomegranate, a bell and a pomegranate, round about the hem of the robe to minister in; as the LORD commanded Moses.

Geneva: A bel and a pomegranate, a bel & a pomegranate round about the skirts of the robe to minister in, as the Lord had commanded Moses.

KJV: And they made coats of fine linen of woven work for Aaron, and for his sons,

Geneva: After, they made coates of fine linen, of wouen worke for Aaron and for his sonnes.

KJV: And a mitre of fine linen, and goodly bonnets of fine linen, and linen breeches of fine twined linen,

Geneva: And the miter of fine linen, and goodly bonnets of fine linen, and linen breeches of fine twined linen,

KJV: And a girdle of fine twined linen, and blue, and purple, and scarlet, of needlework; as the LORD commanded Moses.

Geneva: And the girdle of fine twined linen, and of blew silke, and purple, and skarlet, euen of needle worke, as the Lord had commanded Moses.

KJV: And they made the plate of the holy crown of pure gold, and wrote upon it a writing, like to the engravings of a signet, HOLINESS TO THE LORD.

Geneva: Finally they made the plate for the holy crowne of fine golde, and wrote vpon it a superscription like to the grauing of a signet, HOLINES TO THE LORD.

KJV: And they tied unto it a lace of blue, to fasten it on high upon the mitre; as the LORD commanded Moses.

Geneva: And they tied vnto it a lace of blewe silke to fasten it on hie vpon the miter, as the Lorde had commanded Moses.

KJV: Thus was all the work of the tabernacle of the tent of the congregation finished: and the children of Israel did according to all that the LORD commanded Moses, so did they.

Geneva: Thus was all the worke of the Tabernacle, euen of the Tabernacle of the Congregation finished: and the children of Israel did according to al that the Lord had commanded Moses: so dyd they.

KJV: And they brought the tabernacle unto Moses, the tent, and all his furniture, his taches, his boards, his bars, and his pillars, and his sockets,

Geneva: Afterwarde they brought the Tabernacle vnto Moses, the Tabernacle and al his instruments, his taches, his boards, his barres, and his pillers, and his sockets,

KJV: And the covering of rams’ skins dyed red, and the covering of badgers’ skins, and the vail of the covering,

Geneva: And the couering of rammes skinnes died red, and the couerings of badgers skinnes, & the couering vaile.

KJV: The ark of the testimony, and the staves thereof, and the mercy seat,

Geneva: The Arke of the Testimony, and the barres thereof, and the Merciseate,

KJV: The table, and all the vessels thereof, and the shewbread,

Geneva: The Table, with all the instruments thereof, and the shewebread,

KJV: The pure candlestick, with the lamps thereof, even with the lamps to be set in order, and all the vessels thereof, and the oil for light,

Geneva: The pure Candlesticke, the lampes thereof, euen the lampes set in order, and all the instruments thereof, and the oyle for light:

KJV: And the golden altar, and the anointing oil, and the sweet incense, and the hanging for the tabernacle door,

Geneva: Also the golden Altar and the anoynting oyle, and the sweete incense, and the hanging of the Tabernacle doore,

KJV: The brasen altar, and his grate of brass, his staves, and all his vessels, the laver and his foot,

Geneva: The brasen Altar with his grate of brasse, his barres and all his instrumentes, the Lauer and his foote.

KJV: The hangings of the court, his pillars, and his sockets, and the hanging for the court gate, his cords, and his pins, and all the vessels of the service of the tabernacle, for the tent of the congregation,

Geneva: The curtaines of the court with his pillers, and his sockets, & the hanging to the court gate, and his cordes, and his pinnes, and all the instruments of the seruice of the Tabernacle, called the Tabernacle of the Congregation.

KJV: The cloths of service to do service in the holy place, and the holy garments for Aaron the priest, and his sons’ garments, to minister in the priest’s office.

Geneva: Finally, the ministring garmentes to serue in the Sanctuarie, and the holy garmentes for Aaron the Priest, and his sonnes garmentes to minister in the Priestes office.

KJV: According to all that the LORD commanded Moses, so the children of Israel made all the work.

Geneva: According to euery poynt that the Lorde had commanded Moses, so the children of Israel made all the worke.

KJV: And Moses did look upon all the work, and, behold, they had done it as the LORD had commanded, even so had they done it: and Moses blessed them.

Geneva: And Moses beheld al the worke, & behold, they had done it as the Lord had commanded: so had they done: and Moses blessed them.
