Tells about Samuel, the last judge, and the beginning of Israel's monarchy with King Saul and young David.

Chapter 17

KJV - 1 Samuel 17:39

And David girded his sword upon his armour, and he assayed to go; for he had not proved it. And David said unto Saul, I cannot go with these; for I have not proved them. And David put them off him.

David fastened his sword to his armor and tried to leave, but he couldn't because he hadn't tested the gear. David told Saul, "I can't go like this," as he removed the armor.
