Look not upon me, because I am black, because the sun hath looked upon me: my mother’s children were angry with me; they made me the keeper of the vineyards; but mine own vineyard have I not kept.
Don't look at me just because I'm dark-skinned. The sun has made me this way. My family was angry with me, so they made me take care of other people's grape fields. But I haven't taken care of my own grape field.
