←Back to VersesAnd answered them after the advice of the young men, saying, My father made your yoke heavy, but I will add thereto: my father chastised you with whips, but I will chastise you with scorpions.
He replied based on the young men's suggestions, saying, "Your father made your work difficult and used whips to punish you, but I will make it even harder and use scorpions to punish you."
