Chapter 24

KJV: Now these are the divisions of the sons of Aaron. The sons of Aaron; Nadab, and Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.

Geneva: These are also the diuisions of the sonnes of Aaron: The sonnes of Aaron were Nadab, and Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.

KJV: But Nadab and Abihu died before their father, and had no children: therefore Eleazar and Ithamar executed the priest’s office.

Geneva: But Nadab and Abihu died before their father, and had no children: therefore Eleazar & Ithamar executed the Priestes office.

KJV: And David distributed them, both Zadok of the sons of Eleazar, and Ahimelech of the sons of Ithamar, according to their offices in their service.

Geneva: And Dauid distributed them, euen Zadok of the sonnes of Eleazar, and Ahimelech of the sonnes of Ithamar according to their offices in their ministration.

KJV: And there were more chief men found of the sons of Eleazar than of the sons of Ithamar; and thus were they divided. Among the sons of Eleazar there were sixteen chief men of the house of their fathers, and eight among the sons of Ithamar according to the house of their fathers.

Geneva: And there were found mo of the sonnes of Eleazar by the number of men, then of the sonnes of Ithamar; they deuided them, to wit, among the sonnes of Eleazar, sixteene heads, according to the houshould of their fathers, and among ye sonnes of Ithamar, according to the housholde of their fathers, eight.

KJV: Thus were they divided by lot, one sort with another; for the governors of the sanctuary, and governors of the house of God, were of the sons of Eleazar, and of the sons of Ithamar.

Geneva: Thus they distributed them by lot the one from the other, and so the rulers of the Sanctuarie and the rulers of the house of God were of the sonnes of Eleazar and of the sonnes of Ithamar.

KJV: And Shemaiah the son of Nethaneel the scribe, one of the Levites, wrote them before the king, and the princes, and Zadok the priest, and Ahimelech the son of Abiathar, and before the chief of the fathers of the priests and Levites: one principal household being taken for Eleazar, and one taken for Ithamar.

Geneva: And Shemaiah the sonne of Nethaneel the scribe of the Leuites, wrote them before ye King and the princes, and Zadok the Priest, and Ahimelech the sonne of Abiathar, and before ye chiefe fathers of the Priests and of the Leuites, one familie being reserued for Eleazar, and another reserued for Ithamar.

KJV: These were the orderings of them in their service to come into the house of the LORD, according to their manner, under Aaron their father, as the LORD God of Israel had commanded him.

Geneva: These were their orders according to their offices, when they entred into the house of the Lorde according to their custome vnder the hande of Aaron their father, as the Lorde God of Israel had commaunded him.

KJV: And the rest of the sons of Levi were these: Of the sons of Amram; Shubael: of the sons of Shubael; Jehdeiah.

Geneva: And of the sonnes of Leui that remained of the sonnes of Amram, was Shubael, of the sonnes of Shubael, Iedeiah,

KJV: Concerning Rehabiah: of the sons of Rehabiah, the first was Isshiah.

Geneva: Of Rehabiah. euen of the sonnes of Rehabiah, the first Isshiiah,

KJV: Of the Izharites; Shelomoth: of the sons of Shelomoth; Jahath.

Geneva: Of Izhari, Shelomoth, of the sonnes of Shelomoth, Iahath,

KJV: And the sons of Hebron; Jeriah the first, Amariah the second, Jahaziel the third, Jekameam the fourth.

Geneva: And his sonnes Ieriah the first, Amariah the second, Iahaziel the thirde, and Iekameam the fourth,

KJV: Of the sons of Uzziel; Michah: of the sons of Michah; Shamir.

Geneva: The sonne of Vzziel was Michah, ye sonne of Michah was Shamir,

KJV: The brother of Michah was Isshiah: of the sons of Isshiah; Zechariah.

Geneva: The brother of Michah was Isshiiah, the sonne of Isshiiah, Zechariah,

KJV: The sons of Merari were Mahli and Mushi: the sons of Jaaziah; Beno.

Geneva: The sonnes of Merari, were Mahli and Mushi, the sonne of Iaaziiah was Beno,

KJV: The sons of Merari by Jaaziah; Beno, and Shoham, and Zaccur, and Ibri.

Geneva: The sonnes of Merari of Iahaziah were Beno, and Shoham, and Zaccur and Ibri.

KJV: Of Mahli came Eleazar, who had no sons.

Geneva: Of Mahli came Eleazar, which had no sonnes.

KJV: Concerning Kish: the son of Kish was Jerahmeel.

Geneva: Of Kish. the sonne of Kish was Ierahmeel,

KJV: The sons also of Mushi; Mahli, and Eder, and Jerimoth. These were the sons of the Levites after the house of their fathers.

Geneva: And the sonnes of Mushi were Mahli, & Eder, and Ierimoth: these were sonnes of the Leuites after the houshold of their fathers.

KJV: These likewise cast lots over against their brethren the sons of Aaron in the presence of David the king, and Zadok, and Ahimelech, and the chief of the fathers of the priests and Levites, even the principal fathers over against their younger brethren.

Geneva: And these also cast lots with their brethren the sonnes of Aaron before King Dauid, & Zadok and Ahimelech and the chiefe fathers of the Priests, and of the Leuites, euen the chiefe of the families against their yonger brethren.
