KJV: And when they drew nigh unto Jerusalem, and were come to Bethphage, unto the mount of Olives, then sent Jesus two disciples,

Geneva: And when they drewe neere to Hierusalem, and were come to Bethphage, vnto the mount of the Oliues, then sent Iesus two disciples,

KJV: Saying unto them, Go into the village over against you, and straightway ye shall find an ass tied, and a colt with her: loose them, and bring them unto me.

Geneva: Saying to them, Goe into the towne that is ouer against you, and anon yee shall finde an asse bounde, and a colt with her: loose them, and bring them vnto me.

KJV: And if any man say ought unto you, ye shall say, The Lord hath need of them; and straightway he will send them.

Geneva: And if any man say ought vnto you, say ye, that the Lorde hath neede of them, and straightway he will let them goe.

KJV: All this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying,

KJV: Tell ye the daughter of Sion, Behold, thy King cometh unto thee, meek, and sitting upon an ass, and a colt the foal of an ass.

Geneva: Tell ye the daughter of Sion, Beholde, thy King commeth vnto thee, meeke and sitting vpon an asse, and a colte, the foale of an asse vsed to the yoke.

KJV: And the disciples went, and did as Jesus commanded them,

Geneva: So the disciples went, and did as Iesus had commaunded them,

KJV: And brought the ass, and the colt, and put on them their clothes, and they set him thereon.

Geneva: And brought the asse and the colt, and put on them their clothes, and set him thereon.

KJV: And a very great multitude spread their garments in the way; others cut down branches from the trees, and strawed them in the way.

KJV: And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the son of David: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest.

Geneva: Moreouer, the people that went before, and they also that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the Sonne of Dauid, Blessed be hee that commeth in the Name of the Lorde, Hosanna thou which art in the highest heauens.

KJV: And when he was come into Jerusalem, all the city was moved, saying, Who is this?

Geneva: And when he was come into Hierusalem, all the citie was mooued, saying, Who is this?

KJV: And the multitude said, This is Jesus the prophet of Nazareth of Galilee.

Geneva: And the people said, This is Iesus that Prophet of Nazareth in Galile.

KJV: And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves,

Geneva: And Iesus went into the Temple of God, and cast out all them that solde and bought in the Temple, and ouerthrew the tables of the money chagers, & the seates of them that sold doues,

KJV: And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.

Geneva: And said to them, it is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer: but ye haue made it a denne of theeues.

KJV: And the blind and the lame came to him in the temple; and he healed them.

Geneva: Then the blinde, and the halt came to him in the Temple, and he healed them.

KJV: And when the chief priests and scribes saw the wonderful things that he did, and the children crying in the temple, and saying, Hosanna to the son of David; they were sore displeased,

Geneva: But when the chiefe priestes and Scribes sawe the marueiles that hee did, and the children crying in the Temple, and saying, Hosanna to the Sonne of Dauid, they disdained,

KJV: And said unto him, Hearest thou what these say? And Jesus saith unto them, Yea; have ye never read, Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings thou hast perfected praise?

Geneva: And said vnto him, Hearest thou what these say? And Iesus said vnto them, Yea: read ye neuer, By the mouth of babes and sucklings thou hast made perfite the praise?

KJV: And he left them, and went out of the city into Bethany; and he lodged there.

Geneva: So hee left them, and went out of the citie vnto Bethania, and lodged there.

KJV: Now in the morning as he returned into the city, he hungered.

Geneva: And in the morning, as he returned into the citie, he was hungrie,

KJV: And when he saw a fig tree in the way, he came to it, and found nothing thereon, but leaves only, and said unto it, Let no fruit grow on thee henceforward for ever. And presently the fig tree withered away.

Geneva: And seeing a figge tree in the way, he came to it, and found nothing thereon, but leaues onely, and said to it, Neuer fruite grow on thee henceforwards; anon the figge tree withered.

KJV: And when the disciples saw it, they marvelled, saying, How soon is the fig tree withered away!

Geneva: And when his disciples saw it, they marueiled, saying, How soone is the figge tree withered!

KJV: Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.

Geneva: And Iesus answered and said vnto them, Verely I say vnto you, if ye haue faith, & doubt not, ye shall not only doe that, which I haue done to the figge tree, but also if ye say vnto this mountaine, Take thy selfe away, and cast thy selfe into the sea, it shalbe done.

KJV: And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

Geneva: And whatsoeuer ye shall aske in prayer, if ye beleeue, ye shall receiue it.

KJV: And when he was come into the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people came unto him as he was teaching, and said, By what authority doest thou these things? and who gave thee this authority?

Geneva: And whe he was come into the Temple, the chiefe Priestes, and the Elders of the people came vnto him, as he was teaching, and saide, By what authoritie doest thou these things? And who gaue thee this authoritie?

KJV: And Jesus answered and said unto them, I also will ask you one thing, which if ye tell me, I in like wise will tell you by what authority I do these things.

Geneva: Then Iesus answered and said vnto them, I also will aske of you a certaine thing, which if ye tell me, I likewise will tell you by what authoritie I doe these things.

KJV: The baptism of John, whence was it? from heaven, or of men? And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; he will say unto us, Why did ye not then believe him?

Geneva: The baptisme of Iohn, whence was it? From heauen, or of men? Then they reasoned among themselues, saying, If we shall say, From heauen, he will say vnto vs, Why did ye not then beleeue him?

KJV: But if we shall say, Of men; we fear the people; for all hold John as a prophet.

Geneva: And if we say, Of men, we feare the multitude, for all holde Iohn as a Prophet.

KJV: And they answered Jesus, and said, We cannot tell. And he said unto them, Neither tell I you by what authority I do these things.

Geneva: Then they answered Iesus, and said, We can not tell; he said vnto them, Neither tell I you by what authoritie I doe these things.

KJV: But what think ye? A certain man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, Son, go work to day in my vineyard.

Geneva: But what thinke ye? A certaine man had two sonnes, and came to the elder, and saide, Sonne, goe and worke to day in my vineyarde.

KJV: He answered and said, I will not: but afterward he repented, and went.

Geneva: But he answered, and said, I will not: yet afterward he repented himselfe, and went.

KJV: And he came to the second, and said likewise. And he answered and said, I go, sir: and went not.

Geneva: Then came he to the second, and said likewise; he answered, and said, I will, Syr: yet he went not.

KJV: Whether of them twain did the will of his father? They say unto him, The first. Jesus saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you.

Geneva: Whether of them twaine did the will of the father? They saide vnto him, The first. Iesus saide vnto them, Verely I say vnto you, that the Publicanes and the harlots goe before you into the kingdome of God.

KJV: For John came unto you in the way of righteousness, and ye believed him not: but the publicans and the harlots believed him: and ye, when ye had seen it, repented not afterward, that ye might believe him.

Geneva: For Iohn came vnto you in the way of righteousnes, and yee beleeued him not: but the Publicanes, and the harlots beleeued him, and ye, though ye sawe it, were not mooued with repentance afterward, that ye might beleeue him.

KJV: Hear another parable: There was a certain householder, which planted a vineyard, and hedged it round about, and digged a winepress in it, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country:

Geneva: Heare another parable, There was a certaine housholder, which planted a vineyard, and hedged it round about, & made a winepresse therein, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a strange countrey.

KJV: And when the time of the fruit drew near, he sent his servants to the husbandmen, that they might receive the fruits of it.

Geneva: And when the time of the fruite drewe neere, hee sent his seruants to the husbandmen to receiue the fruites thereof.

KJV: And the husbandmen took his servants, and beat one, and killed another, and stoned another.

Geneva: And ye husbandmen tooke his seruants and beat one, and killed another, and stoned another.

KJV: Again, he sent other servants more than the first: and they did unto them likewise.

Geneva: Againe hee sent other seruants, moe then the first: and they did the like vnto them.

KJV: But last of all he sent unto them his son, saying, They will reverence my son.

Geneva: But last of all he sent vnto them his owne sonne, saying, They will reuerence my sonne.

KJV: But when the husbandmen saw the son, they said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and let us seize on his inheritance.

Geneva: But when the husbandmen saw the sonne, they saide among themselues, This is the heire: come, let vs kil him, & let vs take his inheritance.

KJV: And they caught him, and cast him out of the vineyard, and slew him.

Geneva: So they tooke him, and cast him out of the vineyarde, and slewe him.

KJV: When the lord therefore of the vineyard cometh, what will he do unto those husbandmen?

Geneva: When therefore the Lorde of the vineyarde shall come, what will hee doe to those husbandmen?

KJV: They say unto him, He will miserably destroy those wicked men, and will let out his vineyard unto other husbandmen, which shall render him the fruits in their seasons.

Geneva: They saide vnto him, Hee will cruelly destroy those wicked men, and will let out his vineyard vnto other husbandmen, which shall deliuer him the fruites in their seasons.

KJV: Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord’s doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?

Geneva: Iesus saide vnto them, Read ye neuer in the Scriptures, The stone which the builders refused, the same is made the head of the corner? This was the Lordes doing, and it is marueilous in our eyes.

KJV: Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof.

Geneva: Therefore say I vnto you, The kingdome of God shalbe taken from you, and shalbe giuen to a nation, which shall bring foorth the fruites thereof.

KJV: And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.

Geneva: And whosoeuer shall fall on this stone, he shalbe broken: but on whomsoeuer it shal fall, it will dash him a pieces.

KJV: And when the chief priests and Pharisees had heard his parables, they perceived that he spake of them.

Geneva: And when the chiefe Priestes and Pharises had heard his parables, they perceiued that hee spake of them.

KJV: But when they sought to lay hands on him, they feared the multitude, because they took him for a prophet.

Geneva: And they seeking to laye handes on him, feared the people, because they tooke him as a Prophet.
