Tells about Samuel, the last judge, and the beginning of Israel's monarchy with King Saul and young David.

Chapter 14

KJV - 1 Samuel 14:17

Then said Saul unto the people that were with him, Number now, and see who is gone from us. And when they had numbered, behold, Jonathan and his armourbearer were not there.

Then Saul asked the people around him, "Count how many of you are here." When they counted, they found out that Jonathan and his helper were missing.
