Chapter 16

KJV: So they brought the ark of God, and set it in the midst of the tent that David had pitched for it: and they offered burnt sacrifices and peace offerings before God.

Geneva: So they brought in the Arke of God, and set it in the middes of the Tabernacle that Dauid had pitched for it, and they offred burnt offrings and peace offrings before God.

KJV: And when David had made an end of offering the burnt offerings and the peace offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the LORD.

Geneva: And when Dauid had made an ende of offering the burnt offering and the peace offerings, hee blessed the people in the Name of the Lorde.

KJV: And he dealt to every one of Israel, both man and woman, to every one a loaf of bread, and a good piece of flesh, and a flagon of wine.

Geneva: And he dealt to euery one of Israel both man and woman, to euery one a cake of breade, and a piece of flesh, and a bottel of wine.

KJV: And he appointed certain of the Levites to minister before the ark of the LORD, and to record, and to thank and praise the LORD God of Israel:

Geneva: And he appointed certaine of the Leuites to minister before the Arke of the Lorde, and to rehearse and to thanke and prayse the Lord God of Israel:

KJV: Asaph the chief, and next to him Zechariah, Jeiel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Mattithiah, and Eliab, and Benaiah, and Obededom: and Jeiel with psalteries and with harps; but Asaph made a sound with cymbals;

Geneva: Asaph the chiefe, and next to him Zechariah, Ieiel, and Shemiramoth, and Iehiel, & Mattithiah, and Eliab, and Benaiah, and Obed Edom, euen Ieiel with instruments, violes and harpes, and Asaph to make a sound with cymbales,

KJV: Benaiah also and Jahaziel the priests with trumpets continually before the ark of the covenant of God.

Geneva: And Benaiah and Iahaziel Priestes, with trumpets continually before the Arke of the couenant of God.

KJV: Then on that day David delivered first this psalm to thank the LORD into the hand of Asaph and his brethren.

Geneva: Then at that time Dauid did appoint at the beginning to giue thankes to the Lorde by the hand of Asaph and his brethren.

KJV: Give thanks unto the LORD, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the people.

Geneva: Praise the Lorde and call vpon his Name: declare his workes among the people.

KJV: Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him, talk ye of all his wondrous works.

Geneva: Sing vnto him, sing praise vnto him, and talke of all his wonderfull workes.

KJV: Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the LORD.

Geneva: Reioyce in his holy Name: let the hearts of them that seeke the Lord reioyce.

KJV: Seek the LORD and his strength, seek his face continually.

Geneva: Seeke the Lord and his strength: seeke his face continually.

KJV: Remember his marvellous works that he hath done, his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth;

Geneva: Remember his marueilous workes that he hath done, his wonders, and the iudgementes of his mouth,

KJV: O ye seed of Israel his servant, ye children of Jacob, his chosen ones.

Geneva: O seede of Israel his seruant, O the children of Iaakob his chosen.

KJV: He is the LORD our God; his judgments are in all the earth.

Geneva: He is the Lorde our God: his iudgements are throughout all the earth.

KJV: Be ye mindful always of his covenant; the word which he commanded to a thousand generations;

Geneva: Remember his couenant for euer, and the worde, which hee commaunded to a thousand generations:

KJV: Even of the covenant which he made with Abraham, and of his oath unto Isaac;

Geneva: Which he made with Abraham, and his othe to Izhak:

KJV: And hath confirmed the same to Jacob for a law, and to Israel for an everlasting covenant,

Geneva: And hath confirmed it to Iaakob for a Law, & to Israel for an euerlasting couenant,

KJV: Saying, Unto thee will I give the land of Canaan, the lot of your inheritance;

Geneva: Saying, To thee will I giue the land of Canaan, the lot of your inheritance.

KJV: When ye were but few, even a few, and strangers in it.

Geneva: When ye were fewe in number, yea, a very fewe, and strangers therein,

KJV: And when they went from nation to nation, and from one kingdom to another people;

Geneva: And walked about from nation to nation, and from one kingdome to another people,

KJV: He suffered no man to do them wrong: yea, he reproved kings for their sakes,

Geneva: He suffered no man to do them wrong, but rebuked Kings for their sakes, saying,

KJV: Saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm.

Geneva: Touch not mine anoynted, and doe my Prophets no harme.

KJV: Sing unto the LORD, all the earth; shew forth from day to day his salvation.

Geneva: Sing vnto the Lord all the earth: declare his saluation from day to day.

KJV: Declare his glory among the heathen; his marvellous works among all nations.

Geneva: Declare his glory among the nations, and his wonderful workes among all people.

KJV: For great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised: he also is to be feared above all gods.

Geneva: For the Lorde is great & much to be praised, and hee is to bee feared aboue all gods.

KJV: For all the gods of the people are idols: but the LORD made the heavens.

Geneva: For all the gods of the people are idoles, but the Lord made the heauens.

KJV: Glory and honour are in his presence; strength and gladness are in his place.

Geneva: Prayse and glory are before him: power & beautie are in his place.

KJV: Give unto the LORD, ye kindreds of the people, give unto the LORD glory and strength.

Geneva: Giue vnto the Lord, ye families of the people: giue vnto the Lord glory and power.

KJV: Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name: bring an offering, and come before him: worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.

Geneva: Giue vnto the Lorde ye glory of his Name: bring an offring and come before him, and worship the Lorde in the glorious Sanctuarie.

KJV: Fear before him, all the earth: the world also shall be stable, that it be not moved.

Geneva: Tremble ye before him, al the earth: surely the world shalbe stable and not moue.

KJV: Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice: and let men say among the nations, The LORD reigneth.

Geneva: Let the heauens reioyce, and let the earth be glad, and let them say among the nations, The Lorde reigneth.

KJV: Let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof: let the fields rejoice, and all that is therein.

Geneva: Let the sea roare, and all that therein is: Let the field be ioyfull and all that is in it.

KJV: Then shall the trees of the wood sing out at the presence of the LORD, because he cometh to judge the earth.

Geneva: Let the trees of the wood then reioyce at the presence of the Lorde: for he commeth to iudge the earth.

KJV: O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever.

Geneva: Prayse the Lorde, for hee is good, for his mercie endureth for euer.

KJV: And say ye, Save us, O God of our salvation, and gather us together, and deliver us from the heathen, that we may give thanks to thy holy name, and glory in thy praise.

Geneva: And say ye, Saue vs, O God, our saluation, and gather vs, and deliuer vs from the heathen, that we may prayse thine holy Name, and glorie in thy praise.

KJV: Blessed be the LORD God of Israel for ever and ever. And all the people said, Amen, and praised the LORD.

Geneva: Blessed be the Lord God of Israel for euer and euer: and let all people say, So be it, and praise the Lorde.

KJV: So he left there before the ark of the covenant of the LORD Asaph and his brethren, to minister before the ark continually, as every day’s work required:

Geneva: Then he left there before the Arke of the Lordes couenant Asaph and his brethren to minister continually before the Arke, that which was to be done euery day:

KJV: And Obededom with their brethren, threescore and eight; Obededom also the son of Jeduthun and Hosah to be porters:

Geneva: And Obed Edom and his brethren, three score and eight: and Obed Edom the sonne of Ieduthun, and Hosah were porters.

KJV: And Zadok the priest, and his brethren the priests, before the tabernacle of the LORD in the high place that was at Gibeon,

Geneva: And Zadok the Priest and his brethren the Priestes were before the Tabernacle of ye Lorde, in the hie place that was at Gibeon,

KJV: To offer burnt offerings unto the LORD upon the altar of the burnt offering continually morning and evening, and to do according to all that is written in the law of the LORD, which he commanded Israel;

Geneva: To offer burnt offrings vnto the Lord, vpon the burnt offring altar continually, in the morning and in the euening, euen according vnto all that is written in the law of the Lord, which hee commaunded Israel.

KJV: And with them Heman and Jeduthun, and the rest that were chosen, who were expressed by name, to give thanks to the LORD, because his mercy endureth for ever;

Geneva: And with them were Heman, and Ieduthun, and the rest that were chosen (which were appointed by names) to praise the Lorde, because his mercie endureth for euer.

KJV: And with them Heman and Jeduthun with trumpets and cymbals for those that should make a sound, and with musical instruments of God. And the sons of Jeduthun were porters.

Geneva: Euen with them were Heman & Ioduthun, to make a sound with the cornets and with the cymbales, with excellent instruments of musicke: and the sonnes of Ieduthun were at the gate.

KJV: And all the people departed every man to his house: and David returned to bless his house.

Geneva: And all the people departed, euerie man to his house: and Dauid returned to blesse his house.
