Joshua 16:10
And they drave not out the Canaanites that dwelt in Gezer: but the Canaanites dwell among the Ephraimites unto this day, and serve under tribute.
Simple English
The people didn't remove the people living in Gezer, so the Canaanites still lived there with the Ephraimites until now, and they paid a fee while serving them.
