Joshua 16:1
And the lot of the children of Joseph fell from Jordan by Jericho, unto the water of Jericho on the east, to the wilderness that goeth up from Jericho throughout mount Bethel,

The area given to Joseph's children was between the Jordan River and Jericho, stretching from the water of Jericho towards the east, reaching the desert that goes up from Jericho all the way to Mount Bethel.
