KJV: Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,

Geneva: Therefore, leauing the doctrine of the beginning of Christ, let vs be led forward vnto perfection, not laying againe ye foundation of repetance fro dead workes, & of faith toward God,

KJV: Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.

Geneva: Of the doctrine of baptismes, and laying on of hands, & of the resurrection from the dead, and of eternall iudgement.

KJV: And this will we do, if God permit.

Geneva: And this will we doe if God permit.

KJV: For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,

Geneva: For it is impossible that they which were once lightened, & haue tasted of the heauenly gift, and were made partakers of the holy Ghost,

KJV: And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,

Geneva: And haue tasted of the good word of God, and of the powers of the world to come,

KJV: If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.

Geneva: If they fal away, should be renued againe by repentance: seeing they crucifie againe to themselues the Sonne of God, & make a mocke of him.

KJV: For the earth which drinketh in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God:

Geneva: For the earth which drinketh in the raine that commeth oft vpon it, and bringeth foorth herbes meete for them by whome it is dressed, receiueth blessing of God.

KJV: But that which beareth thorns and briers is rejected, and is nigh unto cursing; whose end is to be burned.

Geneva: But that which beareth thornes and briars, is reproued, and is neere vnto cursing, whose end is to be burned.

KJV: But, beloved, we are persuaded better things of you, and things that accompany salvation, though we thus speak.

Geneva: But beloued, we haue perswaded our selues better things of you, and such as accompany saluation, though we thus speake.

KJV: For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

Geneva: For God is not vnrighteous, that hee should forget your worke, and labour of loue, which ye shewed toward his Name, in that ye haue ministred vnto the Saints, and yet minister.

KJV: And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end:

Geneva: And we desire that euery one of you shew the same diligence, to the full assurance of hope vnto the ende,

KJV: That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

Geneva: That ye be not slouthfull, but followers of them, which through faith and patience, inherite the promises.

KJV: For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he sware by himself,

Geneva: For when God made the promise to Abraham, because he had no greater to sweare by, he sware by himselfe,

KJV: Saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee.

Geneva: Saying, Surely I wil aboundantly blesse thee and multiplie thee marueilously.

KJV: And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.

Geneva: And so after that he had taried patiently, he enioyed the promes.

KJV: For men verily swear by the greater: and an oath for confirmation is to them an end of all strife.

Geneva: For men verely sweare by him that is greater then themselues, and an othe for confirmation is among them an ende of all strife.

KJV: Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath:

Geneva: So God, willing more aboundantly to shew vnto the heires of promes the stablenes of his counsell, bound himselfe by an othe,

KJV: That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:

Geneva: That by two immutable things, wherein it is vnpossible that God should lye, we might haue strong consolation, which haue our refuge to lay holde vpon that hope that is set before vs,

KJV: Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;

Geneva: Which hope we haue, as an ancre of the soule, both sure and stedfast, and it entreth into that which is within the vaile,

KJV: Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.

Geneva: Whither the forerunner is for vs entred in, euen Iesus that is made an hie Priest for euer after the order of Melchi-sedec.
