Tells about Samuel, the last judge, and the beginning of Israel's monarchy with King Saul and young David.

Chapter 16

KJV - 1 Samuel 16:12

And he sent, and brought him in. Now he was ruddy, and withal of a beautiful countenance, and goodly to look to. And the LORD said, Arise, anoint him: for this is he.

And he sent someone to bring him. This person had a reddish complexion, a lovely face, and was pleasant to look at. Then the LORD said, "Get up and anoint him because this is the one."
