Chapter 16

1 And I heard a great voice out of the temple saying to the seven angels, Go your ways, and pour out the vials of the wrath of God upon the earth.

*I heard a loud voice from the temple telling the seven angels to go and pour out God's wrath containers on the earth.

2 And the first went, and poured out his vial upon the earth; and there fell a noisome and grievous sore upon the men which had the mark of the beast, and upon them which worshipped his image.

*Then the first one went and spilled his container on the ground. A terrible, painful sickness affected the people with the beast's mark and those who worshiped its picture.

3 And the second angel poured out his vial upon the sea; and it became as the blood of a dead man: and every living soul died in the sea.

*The second angel spilled his container on the ocean, turning it red like dead person's blood. Then, all living creatures in the sea died.

4 And the third angel poured out his vial upon the rivers and fountains of waters; and they became blood.

*The third angel spilled his container onto the rivers and water sources, turning them into blood.

5 And I heard the angel of the waters say, Thou art righteous, O Lord, which art, and wast, and shalt be, because thou hast judged thus.

*I heard an angel speak, saying, "You are fair, God, because you have made this decision in the past, now, and always will."

6 For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and thou hast given them blood to drink; for they are worthy.

*Because they killed holy people and prophets, you let them drink blood; they deserve it.

7 And I heard another out of the altar say, Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are thy judgments.

*I heard someone from the altar say, "Just like that, Lord All-Powerful, you're fair and just in your decisions."

8 And the fourth angel poured out his vial upon the sun; and power was given unto him to scorch men with fire.

*The fourth angel poured a container of water on the sun, and he was allowed to burn people with fire.

9 And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, which hath power over these plagues: and they repented not to give him glory.

*People suffered intense heat and cursed God's name, who can control these punishments. They didn't repent or praise him.

10 And the fifth angel poured out his vial upon the seat of the beast; and his kingdom was full of darkness; and they gnawed their tongues for pain,

*And the fifth angel released his container on the beast's throne; then, his rule was filled with darkness, and they hurt so much they chewed on their tongues.

11 And blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and repented not of their deeds.

*They cursed the heavenly God due to their pain and wounds, and did not change their actions.

12 And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared.

*The sixth angel emptied his container into the big river Euphrates, causing the water to disappear so that the path for the kings from the east could be ready.

13 And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.

*I saw three dirty spirits that looked like frogs come from the dragon's mouth, the beast's mouth, and the fake prophet's mouth.

14 For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.

*These are devil spirits doing amazing things, going to kings everywhere to bring people together for a big fight on God's powerful day.

15 Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.

*Look, I arrive like a thief. Happy is the one who stays alert and protects their clothes, so they don't walk around exposed and embarrassed.

16 And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.

*He brought them all to a place called Armageddon, as spoken in the Hebrew language.

17 And the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air; and there came a great voice out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, It is done.

*The seventh angel released his container into the sky, and a huge voice came from heaven's temple and the throne, saying, "It's finished."

18 And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great.

*There were loud noises, thunder, and lightning, along with a massive earthquake. This earthquake was more powerful than any other in history since people have been on Earth.

19 And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath.

*The big city broke into three pieces, and other cities from different countries collapsed. People remembered great Babylon, and God wanted to give it a cup filled with strong anger wine.

20 And every island fled away, and the mountains were not found.

*All islands disappeared, and no mountains could be found.

21 And there fell upon men a great hail out of heaven, every stone about the weight of a talent: and men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail; for the plague thereof was exceeding great.

*A huge hailstorm from heaven hit people, with each stone weighing around 26 pounds. People cursed God due to this massive hail disaster, as it was extremely severe.
