How doth the city sit solitary, that was full of people! how is she become as a widow! she that was great among the nations, and princess among the provinces, how is she become tributary!

How does the once-crowded city now seem empty and lonely? It's like it has lost its spouse! This used to be a powerful and important city, respected by many countries. Now, it must pay tribute to others.
