Moses gives speeches about laws and the importance of following God before the Israelites enter the Promised Land.

Chapter 27

KJV: And Moses with the elders of Israel commanded the people, saying, Keep all the commandments which I command you this day.

Geneva: Then Moses with the Elders of Israel commanded the people, saying, Keepe all the comandements, which I command you this day.

KJV: And it shall be on the day when ye shall pass over Jordan unto the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, that thou shalt set thee up great stones, and plaister them with plaister:

Geneva: And when ye shal passe ouer Iorden vnto the lande which the Lorde thy God giueth thee, thou shalt set thee vp great stones, and playster them with plaister,

KJV: And thou shalt write upon them all the words of this law, when thou art passed over, that thou mayest go in unto the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, a land that floweth with milk and honey; as the LORD God of thy fathers hath promised thee.

Geneva: And shalt write vpon them all the words of this Lawe, when thou shalt come ouer, that thou mayest go into the land which the Lord thy God giueth thee: a land that floweth with milke and hony, as the Lorde God of thy fathers hath promised thee.

KJV: Therefore it shall be when ye be gone over Jordan, that ye shall set up these stones, which I command you this day, in mount Ebal, and thou shalt plaister them with plaister.

Geneva: Therefore when ye shal passe ouer Iorden, ye shal set vp these stones, which I command you this daye in mount Ebal, and thou shalt plaister them with plaister.

KJV: And there shalt thou build an altar unto the LORD thy God, an altar of stones: thou shalt not lift up any iron tool upon them.

Geneva: And there shalt thou build vnto the Lord thy God an altar, euen an altar of stones: thou shalt lift none yron instrument vpon them.

KJV: Thou shalt build the altar of the LORD thy God of whole stones: and thou shalt offer burnt offerings thereon unto the LORD thy God:

Geneva: Thou shalt make the altar of the Lord thy God of whole stones, and offer burnt offerings thereon vnto the Lord thy God.

KJV: And thou shalt offer peace offerings, and shalt eat there, and rejoice before the LORD thy God.

Geneva: And thou shalt offer peace offrings, & shalt eate there and reioyce before the Lord thy God:

KJV: And thou shalt write upon the stones all the words of this law very plainly.

Geneva: And thou shalt write vpon the stones al the words of this Law, well and plainely.

KJV: And Moses and the priests the Levites spake unto all Israel, saying, Take heed, and hearken, O Israel; this day thou art become the people of the LORD thy God.

Geneva: And Moses & the Priestes of the Leuites spake vnto all Israel, saying, Take heede & heare, O Israel: this day thou art become the people of the Lord thy God.

KJV: Thou shalt therefore obey the voice of the LORD thy God, and do his commandments and his statutes, which I command thee this day.

Geneva: Thou shalt hearken therefore vnto the voyce of the Lord thy God, and do his commandements and his ordinances, which I commande thee this day.

KJV: And Moses charged the people the same day, saying,

KJV: These shall stand upon mount Gerizim to bless the people, when ye are come over Jordan; Simeon, and Levi, and Judah, and Issachar, and Joseph, and Benjamin:

Geneva: These shal stand vpon mount Gerizzim, to blesse the people when ye shal passe ouer Iorden: Simeon, and Leui, and Iudah, and Issachar, and Ioseph, and Beniamin.

KJV: And these shall stand upon mount Ebal to curse; Reuben, Gad, and Asher, and Zebulun, Dan, and Naphtali.

Geneva: And these shall stand vpon mount Ebal to curse: Reuben, Gad, and Asher, and Zebulun, Dan, and Naphtali.

KJV: And the Levites shall speak, and say unto all the men of Israel with a loud voice,

Geneva: And the Leuites shal answere and say vnto all the men of Israel with a loude voyce,

KJV: Cursed be the man that maketh any graven or molten image, an abomination unto the LORD, the work of the hands of the craftsman, and putteth it in a secret place. And all the people shall answer and say, Amen.

Geneva: Cursed be the man that shall make any carued or molten image, which is an abomination vnto the Lord, the worke of the hands of the craftesman, and putteth it in a secrete place: And all the people shal answere, and say: So be it.

KJV: Cursed be he that setteth light by his father or his mother. And all the people shall say, Amen.

Geneva: Cursed be he that curseth his father & his mother: And all the people shal say: So be it.

KJV: Cursed be he that removeth his neighbour’s landmark. And all the people shall say, Amen.

Geneva: Cursed be he that remoueth his neighbors marke: And all the people shal say: So be it.

KJV: Cursed be he that maketh the blind to wander out of the way. And all the people shall say, Amen.

Geneva: Cursed be he that maketh ye blinde go out of the way: And all the people shal say: So be it.

KJV: Cursed be he that perverteth the judgment of the stranger, fatherless, and widow. And all the people shall say, Amen.

Geneva: Cursed be he that hindreth the right of the stranger, the fatherles, and the widow: And all the people shal say: So be it.

KJV: Cursed be he that lieth with his father’s wife; because he uncovereth his father’s skirt. And all the people shall say, Amen.

Geneva: Cursed be hee that lyeth with his fathers wife: for he hath vncouered his fathers skirt: And all the people shal say: So be it.

KJV: Cursed be he that lieth with any manner of beast. And all the people shall say, Amen.

Geneva: Cursed be he that lieth with any beast: And all the people shal say: So be it.

KJV: Cursed be he that lieth with his sister, the daughter of his father, or the daughter of his mother. And all the people shall say, Amen.

Geneva: Cursed be he that lyeth with his sister, the daughter of his father, or the daughter of his mother: And all the people shal say: So be it.

KJV: Cursed be he that lieth with his mother in law. And all the people shall say, Amen.

Geneva: Cursed be he that lyeth with his mother in law: And all the people shal say: So be it.

KJV: Cursed be he that smiteth his neighbour secretly. And all the people shall say, Amen.

Geneva: Cursed be hee that smiteth his neyghbour secretly: And all the people shal say: So be it.

KJV: Cursed be he that taketh reward to slay an innocent person. And all the people shall say, Amen.

Geneva: Cursed be he that taketh a reward to put to death innocent blood: And all the people shal say: So be it.

KJV: Cursed be he that confirmeth not all the words of this law to do them. And all the people shall say, Amen.

Geneva: Cursed be he that confirmeth not all the wordes of this Law, to do them: And all the people shal say: So be it.
