KJV: And it came to pass in the fourth year of king Darius, that the word of the LORD came unto Zechariah in the fourth day of the ninth month, even in Chisleu;

Geneva: And in the fourth yeere of King Darius, the worde of the Lorde came vnto Zechariah in the fourth day of the ninth moneth, euen in Chisleu,

KJV: When they had sent unto the house of God Sherezer and Regemmelech, and their men, to pray before the LORD,

Geneva: For they had sent vnto the House of God Sharezer, and Regem-melech and their men to pray before the Lord,

KJV: And to speak unto the priests which were in the house of the LORD of hosts, and to the prophets, saying, Should I weep in the fifth month, separating myself, as I have done these so many years?

Geneva: And to speake vnto the Priests, which were in the House of the Lorde of hostes, and to the Prophets, saying, Should I weepe in the fift moneth, and separate my selfe as I haue done these so many yeeres?

KJV: Then came the word of the LORD of hosts unto me, saying,

Geneva: Then came the word of the Lord of hostes vnto me, saying,

KJV: Speak unto all the people of the land, and to the priests, saying, When ye fasted and mourned in the fifth and seventh month, even those seventy years, did ye at all fast unto me, even to me?

Geneva: Speake vnto all the people of the land, and to the Priests, and say, When ye fasted, & mourned in the fift & seuenth moneth, euen the seuentie yeeres, did ye fast vnto me? doe I approoue it?

KJV: And when ye did eat, and when ye did drink, did not ye eat for yourselves, and drink for yourselves?

Geneva: And when ye did eate, and when ye did drinke, did ye not eate for your selues, and drinke for your selues?

KJV: Should ye not hear the words which the LORD hath cried by the former prophets, when Jerusalem was inhabited and in prosperity, and the cities thereof round about her, when men inhabited the south and the plain?

Geneva: Should ye not heare the wordes, which the Lord hath cryed by the ministerie of the former Prophets when Ierusalem was inhabited, and in prosperitie, & the cities thereof round about her, when the South and the plaine was inhabited?

KJV: And the word of the LORD came unto Zechariah, saying,

Geneva: And the worde of the Lord came vnto Zechariah, saying,

KJV: Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, Execute true judgment, and shew mercy and compassions every man to his brother:

Geneva: Thus speaketh the Lorde of hostes, saying, Execute true iudgement, and shewe mercy and compassion, euery man to his brother,

KJV: And oppress not the widow, nor the fatherless, the stranger, nor the poor; and let none of you imagine evil against his brother in your heart.

Geneva: And oppresse not the widowe, nor the fatherles, the stranger nor the poore, & let none of you imagine euil against his brother in your heart.

KJV: But they refused to hearken, and pulled away the shoulder, and stopped their ears, that they should not hear.

Geneva: But they refused to hearken, and pulled away the shoulder, and stopped their eares, that they should not heare.

KJV: Yea, they made their hearts as an adamant stone, lest they should hear the law, and the words which the LORD of hosts hath sent in his spirit by the former prophets: therefore came a great wrath from the LORD of hosts.

Geneva: Yea, they made their hearts as an adamant stone, least they should heare the Lawe and the wordes which the Lord of hostes sent in his spirit by the ministerie of ye former Prophets: therefore came a great wrath from the Lord of hostes.

KJV: Therefore it is come to pass, that as he cried, and they would not hear; so they cried, and I would not hear, saith the LORD of hosts:

Geneva: Therefore it is come to passe, that as he cried, and they would not heare, so they cried, and I would not heare, sayth the Lord of hostes.

KJV: But I scattered them with a whirlwind among all the nations whom they knew not. Thus the land was desolate after them, that no man passed through nor returned: for they laid the pleasant land desolate.

Geneva: Bnt I scattered them among al the nations, whom they knew not: thus the land was desolate after them, that no man passed through nor returned: for they layd the pleasant land waste.
