KJV: Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ:

Geneva: Simon Peter a seruant and an Apostle of Iesus Christ, to you which haue obteined like precious faith with vs by the righteousnesse of our God and Sauiour Iesus Christ:

KJV: Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,

Geneva: Grace and peace be multiplied to you, through the acknowledging of God, and of Iesus our Lord,

KJV: According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:

Geneva: According as his diuine power hath giuen vnto vs all things that perteine vnto life and godlinesse, through the acknowledging of him that hath called vs vnto glory and vertue.

KJV: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

Geneva: Whereby most great and precious promises are giuen vnto vs, that by them ye should be partakers of the diuine nature, in that ye flee the corruption, which is in the worlde through lust.

KJV: And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;

Geneva: Therefore giue euen all diligence thereunto: ioyne moreouer vertue with your faith: and with vertue, knowledge:

KJV: And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;

Geneva: And with knowledge, temperance: and with temperance, patience: and with patience, godlines:

KJV: And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.

Geneva: And with godlines, brotherly kindnes: and with brotherly kindnes, loue.

KJV: For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Geneva: For if these things be among you, and abound, they will make you that ye neither shalbe idle, nor vnfruitfull in the acknowledging of our Lord Iesus Christ:

KJV: But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.

Geneva: For he that hath not these things, is blinde, and can not see farre off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his olde sinnes.

KJV: Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:

Geneva: Wherefore, brethren, giue rather diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye doe these things, ye shall neuer fall.

KJV: For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Geneva: For by this meanes an entring shalbe ministred vnto you aboundantly into the euerlasting kingdome of our Lorde and Sauiour Iesus Christ.

KJV: Wherefore I will not be negligent to put you always in remembrance of these things, though ye know them, and be established in the present truth.

Geneva: Wherefore, I will not be negligent to put you alwayes in remembrance of these things, though that ye haue knowledge, & be stablished in the present trueth.

KJV: Yea, I think it meet, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by putting you in remembrance;

Geneva: For I thinke it meete as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stirre you vp by putting you in remembrance,

KJV: Knowing that shortly I must put off this my tabernacle, even as our Lord Jesus Christ hath shewed me.

Geneva: Seeing I knowe that the time is at hand that I must lay downe this my tabernacle, euen as our Lord Iesus Christ hath shewed me.

KJV: Moreover I will endeavour that ye may be able after my decease to have these things always in remembrance.

Geneva: I will endeuour therefore alwayes, that ye also may be able to haue remembrance of these things after my departing.

KJV: For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty.

Geneva: For we followed not deceiuable fables when we opened vnto you the power, and comming of our Lord Iesus Christ, but with our eyes we saw his maiestie:

KJV: For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

Geneva: For he receiued of God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voyce to him from that excellent glory, This is my beloued Sonne, in whom I am well pleased.

KJV: And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount.

Geneva: And this voyce we heard when it came from heauen, being with him in the Holy mount.

KJV: We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:

Geneva: We haue also a most sure worde of the Prophets, to the which ye doe well that yee take heede, as vnto a light that shineth in a darke place, vntill the day dawne, and the day starre arise in your hearts.

KJV: Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.

Geneva: So that yee first knowe this, that no prophecie of the Scripture is of any priuate interpretation.

KJV: For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

Geneva: For the prophecie came not in olde time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moued by the holy Ghost.
