Chapter 15

KJV: Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;

Geneva: Moreouer brethren, I declare vnto you the Gospel, which I preached vnto you, which ye haue also receiued, and wherein ye continue,

KJV: By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.

Geneva: And whereby ye are saued, if ye keepe in memorie, after what maner I preached it vnto you, except ye haue beleeued in vaine.

KJV: For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

Geneva: For first of all, I deliuered vnto you that which I receiued, how that Christ died for our sinnes, according to the Scriptures,

KJV: And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

Geneva: And that he was buried, and that he arose the third day, according to the Scriptures,

KJV: And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve:

Geneva: And that he was seene of Cephas, then of the twelue.

KJV: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep.

Geneva: After that, he was seene of mo then fiue hudreth brethren at once: whereof many remaine vnto this present, and some also are asleepe.

KJV: After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles.

Geneva: After that, he was seene of Iames: then of all the Apostles.

KJV: And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time.

Geneva: And last of all he was seene also of me, as of one borne out of due time.

KJV: For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.

Geneva: For I am the least of the Apostles, which am not meete to be called an Apostle, because I persecuted the Church of God.

KJV: But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.

Geneva: But by the grace of God, I am that I am: and his grace which is in me, was not in vaine: but I laboured more aboundantly then they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which is with me.

KJV: Therefore whether it were I or they, so we preach, and so ye believed.

Geneva: Wherefore, whether it were I, or they, so we preach, and so haue ye beleeued.

KJV: Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead?

Geneva: Now if it be preached, that Christ is risen from the dead, how say some among you, that there is no resurrection of the dead?

KJV: But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen:

Geneva: For if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen:

KJV: And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain.

Geneva: And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vaine, and your faith is also vaine.

KJV: Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead rise not.

Geneva: And we are found also false witnesses of God: for we haue testified of God, that he hath raised vp Christ: whome he hath not raised vp, if so be the dead be not raised.

KJV: For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised:

Geneva: For if the dead be not raised, then is Christ not raised.

KJV: And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins.

Geneva: And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vaine: ye are yet in your sinnes.

KJV: Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished.

Geneva: And so they which are a sleepe in Christ, are perished.

KJV: If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.

Geneva: If in this life onely wee haue hope in Christ, we are of all men the most miserable.

KJV: But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.

Geneva: But nowe is Christ risen from the dead, and was made the first fruites of them that slept.

KJV: For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.

Geneva: For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.

KJV: For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.

Geneva: For as in Adam all die, euen so in Christ shall all be made aliue,

KJV: But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ’s at his coming.

Geneva: But euery man in his owne order: the first fruites is Christ, afterward, they that are of Christ, at his coming shall rise againe.

KJV: Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.

Geneva: Then shalbe the end, when he hath deliuered vp the kingdome to God, euen the Father, when he hath put downe all rule, and all authoritie and power.

KJV: For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.

Geneva: For he must reigne till hee hath put all his enemies vnder his feete.

KJV: The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.

Geneva: The last enemie that shalbe destroyed, is death.

KJV: For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him.

Geneva: For he hath put downe all things vnder his feete. (And when he saith that all things are subdued to him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put downe all things vnder him.)

KJV: And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.

Geneva: And when all things shalbe subdued vnto him, then shall the Sonne also himselfe be subiect vnto him, that did subdue all things vnder him, that God may be all in all.

KJV: Else what shall they do which are baptized for the dead, if the dead rise not at all? why are they then baptized for the dead?

Geneva: Els what shall they doe which are baptized for dead? If the dead rise not at all, why are they then baptized for dead?

KJV: And why stand we in jeopardy every hour?

Geneva: Why are wee also in ieopardie euery houre?

KJV: I protest by your rejoicing which I have in Christ Jesus our LORD, I die daily.

Geneva: By your reioycing which I haue in Christ Iesus our Lord, I die dayly.

KJV: If after the manner of men I have fought with beasts at Ephesus, what advantageth it me, if the dead rise not? let us eat and drink; for to morrow we die.

Geneva: If I haue fought with beastes at Ephesus after ye maner of men, what aduantageth it me, if the dead be not raised vp? let vs eate and drinke: for to morowe we shall die.

KJV: Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.

Geneva: Be not deceiued: euill speakings corrupt good maners.

KJV: Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.

Geneva: Awake to liue righteously, and sinne not: for some haue not ye knowledge of God, I speake this to your shame.

KJV: But some man will say, How are the dead raised up? and with what body do they come?

Geneva: But some man will say, Howe are the dead raised vp? And with what body come they foorth?

KJV: Thou fool, that which thou sowest is not quickened, except it die:

Geneva: O foole, that which thou sowest, is not quickened, except it die.

KJV: And that which thou sowest, thou sowest not that body that shall be, but bare grain, it may chance of wheat, or of some other grain:

Geneva: And that which thou sowest, thou sowest not that body that shalbe, but bare corne as it falleth, of wheat, or of some other.

KJV: But God giveth it a body as it hath pleased him, and to every seed his own body.

Geneva: But God giueth it a body at his pleasure, euen to euery seede his owne body,

KJV: All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, and another of birds.

Geneva: All flesh is not the same flesh, but there is one flesh of men, and another flesh of beastes, and another of fishes, and another of birdes.

KJV: There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another.

Geneva: There are also heauenly bodies, and earthly bodies: but the glorie of the heauenly is one, and the glorie of the earthly is another.

KJV: There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory.

Geneva: There is another glorie of the sunne, and another glorie of the moone, and another glorie of the starres: for one starre differeth from another starre in glorie.

KJV: So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption:

Geneva: So also is the resurrection of the dead. The bodie is sowen in corruption, and is raysed in incorruption.

KJV: It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power:

Geneva: It is sowen in dishonour, and is raysed in glory: it is sowen in weakenesse, and is raysed in power.

KJV: It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.

Geneva: It is sowen a naturall body, and is raysed a spirituall body: there is a naturall body, and there is a spirituall body.

KJV: And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.

Geneva: As it is also written, The first man Adam was made a liuing soule: and the last Adam was made a quickening Spirit.

KJV: Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual.

Geneva: Howbeit that was not first which is spirituall: but that which is naturall, and afterward that which is spirituall.

KJV: The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven.

Geneva: The first man is of the earth, earthly: the second man is the Lord from heauen.

KJV: As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.

Geneva: As is the earthly, such are they that are earthly: and as is the heauenly, such are they also that are heauenly.

KJV: And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.

Geneva: And as we haue borne the image of the earthly, so shall we beare the image of the heauenly.

KJV: Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.

Geneva: This say I, brethren, that flesh & blood cannot inherite the kingdome of God, neither doeth corruption inherite incorruption.

KJV: Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,

Geneva: Behold, I shewe you a secret thing, We shall not all sleepe, but we shall all be changed,

KJV: In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

Geneva: In a moment, in the twinckling of an eye at the last trumpet: for the trumpet shall blow, and the dead shalbe raysed vp incorruptible, and we shalbe changed.

KJV: For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

Geneva: For this corruptible must put on incorruption: and this mortall must put on immortalitie.

KJV: So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

Geneva: So when this corruptible hath put on incorruption, and this mortall hath put on immortalitie, then shalbe brought to passe the saying that is written, Death is swallowed vp into victorie.

KJV: O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?

Geneva: O death where is thy sting? O graue where is thy victorie?

KJV: The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.

Geneva: The sting of death is sinne: and ye strength of sinne is the Lawe.

KJV: But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Geneva: But thankes be vnto God, which hath giuen vs victorie through our Lord Iesus Christ.

KJV: Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

Geneva: Therefore my beloued brethren, be ye stedfast, vnmoueable, aboundant alwayes in the worke of the Lord, forasmuch as ye knowe that your labour is not in vaine in the Lord.
