Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;

Since you understand that you weren't saved using things that can be destroyed, like silver and gold, but rather through a passing way of life passed down by your ancestors.
