Queen

Queen is a female monarch of a kingdom or empire. The term is often used to refer to the consort of a king, but more commonly it refers to a sovereign ruler in her own right. The term is derived from the Old English word cwēn, which itself comes from the Proto-Germanic word *kwēniz. In Hebrew, the word for queen is מלכה (pronounced malkah). In Spanish, it is reina; in French, reine; in German, Königin; and in Arabic, ملكة (pronounced malikah). Historically, queens have held varying degrees of political power, from ceremonial roles to absolute sovereignty. In many cultures, the role of a queen has evolved over time, reflecting changes in political structures and societal norms. Notable queens in history include Elizabeth I of England, Cleopatra of Egypt, and Isabella I of Spain, each of whom played significant roles in shaping their respective nations.
