Hellfire

Hellfire is a term often used to describe the fires of Hell, a place of punishment in various religious traditions, particularly in Christianity, Islam, and Judaism. In Christianity, Hellfire is often depicted as eternal punishment for sin, with references found throughout the Bible, such as in Matthew 13:42, where Jesus speaks of the furnace of fire where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. In Islam, the concept is known as Nār al-Jahannam (نار جهنم), referring to the fire of Jahannam, one of the realms of the afterlife where those who have sinned will be punished. In Judaism, the term is translated to Hebrew as Esh Gehinnom (אש גיהנום), where Gehinnom is a term for a spiritual purgatory or hell. The imagery of Hellfire is also present in other cultures and religions, often symbolizing divine retribution or purification. The term has also been used metaphorically in various contexts to describe intense anger, destruction, or suffering.
