Extravehicular

Extravehicular is an adjective used in the context of space exploration to describe activities, equipment, or environments that occur or exist outside of a spacecraft. The term is derived from the Latin words "extra" meaning "outside" and "vehiculum" meaning "vehicle." In Hebrew, the term can be translated as חוצה-כלי טיס (khutzah-k'li tays). In other languages, it is known as extravéhiculaire in French, außervehikulär in German, and extravehicular in Spanish. Extravehicular activities (EVAs) are missions or tasks performed by astronauts outside of their spacecraft, such as spacewalks, satellite repairs, or exploration of the lunar or Martian surfaces. These activities require specialized training and equipment to ensure the safety and success of the astronauts in the harsh conditions of outer space.
