Revelation To Muhammad

Revelation to Muhammad refers to the process through which the Islamic prophet Muhammad received the divine revelations that would later form the Quran, the holy book of Islam. According to Islamic belief, these revelations were conveyed to Muhammad by the archangel Gabriel (Jibril in Arabic, גַּבְרִיאֵל in Hebrew) over a period of approximately 23 years, beginning in 610 CE. The revelations came in various forms, including visions, dreams, and auditory experiences, and were often accompanied by physical manifestations such as the ringing of a bell or the shaking of trees. The process of revelation is a central aspect of Islamic theology and is seen as the foundation of the Islamic faith. In Arabic, the term for revelation is wahy (وحي), which can be translated to Hebrew as giluy (גִּלּוּי). In Persian, it is known as vahy (وحی), and in Turkish, it is vehi (vehiy).
