Psalm 911

Psalm 91:1 is the opening verse of the 91st psalm in the Book of Psalms, part of the third section of the Hebrew Bible, known as the Ketuvim ("Writings"). The verse is traditionally attributed to King David and is a part of a psalm that expresses trust in God's protective care. The Hebrew text of Psalm 91:1 reads: לַֽמְנַצֵּ֥חַ בִּֽגְבֻרִ֗ים בְּ֫זֶ֥ה לַ֭כִּנֹּר מִזְמוֹ֣ר לְדָוִ֑ד Lamnatze'ach big'burim, bezeh l'kinor mizmor l'David, which translates to "For the choir director; with stringed instruments. A psalm of David." The verse sets the stage for the psalm's theme of divine protection and refuge, as the psalmist declares in the subsequent verses that those who dwell in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. In Latin, the verse is known as In finem. In carminibus. Psalmus David, and in German, it is Ein Psalm Davids. The context of Psalm 91:1 is significant as it introduces a psalm that has been widely used in Jewish and Christian liturgy and is often cited for its reassuring messages of God's protection and care.
