Enoch

Enoch (Hebrew: חֲנוֹךְ, Modern: Ḥanoḵ, Tiberian: Ḥănōḵ) is a figure in the Book of Genesis and other religious texts. In the Hebrew Bible, Enoch is the son of Jared and the father of Methuselah. He is notable for being one of the two people (along with Elijah) who are said to have "walked with God" and then "were no more," suggesting that he did not experience physical death but was taken by God. This interpretation is based on the verse "Enoch walked with God; then he was no more, because God took him" (Genesis 5:24, NIV). In Islamic tradition, he is known as Idris (إدريس) and is likewise revered as a prophet. The Book of Enoch, an ancient Jewish religious work ascribed to him, expands on his story and includes apocalyptic visions and teachings.
