Chapter 15

1 And the LORD spake unto Moses and to Aaron, saying,

*And the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying,

2 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When any man hath a running issue out of his flesh, because of his issue he is unclean.

*Tell the people of Israel, "If a person has a discharge from their body, they are unclean because of it."

3 And this shall be his uncleanness in his issue: whether his flesh run with his issue, or his flesh be stopped from his issue, it is his uncleanness.

*This means that when there is a discharge from one's body or it is blocked, it is considered unclean for the person.

4 Every bed, whereon he lieth that hath the issue, is unclean: and every thing, whereon he sitteth, shall be unclean.

*Any bed touched by someone with a discharge makes it unclean, and anything he sits on also becomes unclean.

5 And whosoever toucheth his bed shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even.

*Whoever touches his bed must wash their clothes, clean themselves in water, and remain unclean until evening.

6 And he that sitteth on any thing whereon he sat that hath the issue shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even.

*And whoever sits on something they previously sat on must wash their clothes, bathe in water, and remain unclean until evening time.

7 And he that toucheth the flesh of him that hath the issue shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even.

*If you touch someone with a discharge, wash your clothes and clean yourself in water. You will be unclean until evening time.

8 And if he that hath the issue spit upon him that is clean; then he shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even.

*If someone with a discharge spits on a clean person, the clean person must wash their clothes and bath in water, becoming unclean until evening time.

9 And what saddle soever he rideth upon that hath the issue shall be unclean.

*If someone rides any saddle of an animal that has a discharge, they will be unclean too.

10 And whosoever toucheth any thing that was under him shall be unclean until the even: and he that beareth any of those things shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even.

*Whoever touches anything that was under them becomes unclean until evening. The person carrying these items must wash their clothes, bathe in water, and remain unclean until evening.

11 And whomsoever he toucheth that hath the issue, and hath not rinsed his hands in water, he shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even.

*Whoever touches someone with a discharge without washing their hands will need to wash their clothes, clean themselves in water, and remain unclean until evening.

12 And the vessel of earth, that he toucheth which hath the issue, shall be broken: and every vessel of wood shall be rinsed in water.

*If someone touches an earthenware container with a discharge, it must be smashed. And all wooden containers should be washed with water.

13 And when he that hath an issue is cleansed of his issue; then he shall number to himself seven days for his cleansing, and wash his clothes, and bathe his flesh in running water, and shall be clean.

*When someone with a discharge is cured, they should count 7 days for cleaning, wash their clothes, and bathe in flowing water to be truly clean.

14 And on the eighth day he shall take to him two turtledoves, or two young pigeons, and come before the LORD unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and give them unto the priest:

*On the eighth day, he should get two doves or young pigeons and bring them to the priest at the tabernacle's entrance for the Lord.

15 And the priest shall offer them, the one for a sin offering, and the other for a burnt offering; and the priest shall make an atonement for him before the LORD for his issue.

*The priest will present two offerings - one for sin and one for burning. The priest will then seek forgiveness for the person's problem from God.

16 And if any man’s seed of copulation go out from him, then he shall wash all his flesh in water, and be unclean until the even.

*If a man releases semen, he must wash himself with water and be impure until evening.

17 And every garment, and every skin, whereon is the seed of copulation, shall be washed with water, and be unclean until the even.

*Any clothing or animal hide with sexual seeds on it must be washed with water and will be unclean until nighttime.

18 The woman also with whom man shall lie with seed of copulation, they shall both bathe themselves in water, and be unclean until the even.

*A woman and a man who have sex must wash together using water and will be impure until evening.

19 And if a woman have an issue, and her issue in her flesh be blood, she shall be put apart seven days: and whosoever toucheth her shall be unclean until the even.

*If a woman has a bleeding problem, and it's blood coming from her body, she must be separated for seven days. Anyone who touches her will also be unclean until the end of the day.

20 And every thing that she lieth upon in her separation shall be unclean: every thing also that she sitteth upon shall be unclean.

*Whatever she lies on during her time apart will be unclean, and anything she sits on will also be unclean.

21 And whosoever toucheth her bed shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even.

*Whoever touches the bed must wash their clothes, clean themselves with water, and remain unclean until evening.

22 And whosoever toucheth any thing that she sat upon shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even.

*Whoever touches anything she sat on must wash their clothes, clean themselves with water, and remain unclean until evening.

23 And if it be on her bed, or on any thing whereon she sitteth, when he toucheth it, he shall be unclean until the even.

*If it's on her bed or on something she sits on, when he touches it, he is unclean until evening.

24 And if any man lie with her at all, and her flowers be upon him, he shall be unclean seven days; and all the bed whereon he lieth shall be unclean.

*If a man sleeps with a woman and her menstrual blood is on him, he will be impure for seven days, and the place where they slept will also be impure.

25 And if a woman have an issue of her blood many days out of the time of her separation, or if it run beyond the time of her separation; all the days of the issue of her uncleanness shall be as the days of her separation: she shall be unclean.

*If a woman has bleeding for a long time past her normal clean and unclean days, or if it lasts beyond that time, all the days of her impurity will be treated like her period of being unclean. She will be unclean.

26 Every bed whereon she lieth all the days of her issue shall be unto her as the bed of her separation: and whatsoever she sitteth upon shall be unclean, as the uncleanness of her separation.

*On every bed she lies during childbirth, it will be like a bed for being apart. Anything she sits on will be unclean, just like when she is separated.

27 And whosoever toucheth those things shall be unclean, and shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even.

*Whoever touches those items will be unclean. They must wash their clothes and bath in water, staying unclean until evening time.

28 But if she be cleansed of her issue, then she shall number to herself seven days, and after that she shall be clean.

*If she is free from her discharge, she must wait seven days and then she will be clean.

29 And on the eighth day she shall take unto her two turtles, or two young pigeons, and bring them unto the priest, to the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.

*On the eighth day, she should get two birds, like turtle doves or young pigeons, and bring them to the priest at the entrance of the meeting place.

30 And the priest shall offer the one for a sin offering, and the other for a burnt offering; and the priest shall make an atonement for her before the LORD for the issue of her uncleanness.

*The priest will present one as a sin offering and the other as a burnt offering to make up for her impurity. He will seek forgiveness for her on behalf of God.

31 Thus shall ye separate the children of Israel from their uncleanness; that they die not in their uncleanness, when they defile my tabernacle that is among them.

*So, you must keep the Israelites away from impurity; so they don't pass away due to impurity, and they don't contaminate the place where I live among them.

32 This is the law of him that hath an issue, and of him whose seed goeth from him, and is defiled therewith;

*This rule is for someone with a discharge and for someone whose children leave them, becoming unclean because of it.

33 And of her that is sick of her flowers, and of him that hath an issue, of the man, and of the woman, and of him that lieth with her that is unclean.

*And for those who have sickness with their private parts, for men and women, and for those who are with someone impure.
