KJV: Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.
Geneva: Let euery soule be subiect vnto the higher powers: for there is no power but of God: and the powers that be, are ordeined of God.

KJV: Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.
Geneva: Whosoeuer therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist, shall receiue to themselues condemnation.

KJV: For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:
Geneva: For Magistrates are not to be feared for good workes, but for euill. Wilt thou then bee without feare of the power? doe well: so shalt thou haue praise of the same.

KJV: For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.
Geneva: For he is ye minister of God for thy wealth, but if thou do euill, feare: for he beareth not the sworde for nought: for he is the minister of God to take vengeance on him that doeth euill.

KJV: Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake.
Geneva: Wherefore ye must bee subiect, not because of wrath only, but also for conscience sake.

KJV: For for this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God’s ministers, attending continually upon this very thing.
Geneva: For, for this cause ye pay also tribute: for they are Gods ministers, applying themselues for the same thing.

KJV: Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour.
Geneva: Giue to all men therefore their duetie: tribute, to whome yee owe tribute: custome, to whom custome: feare, to whome feare: honour, to whom ye owe honour.

KJV: Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.
Geneva: Owe nothing to any man, but to loue one another: for he that loueth another, hath fulfilled the Lawe.

KJV: For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
Geneva: For this, Thou shalt not commit adulterie, Thou shalt not kil, Thou shalt not steale, Thou shalt not beare false witnes, Thou shalt not couet: and if there be any other commaundement, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, euen in this, Thou shalt loue thy neighbour as thy selfe.

KJV: Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.
Geneva: Loue doeth not euill to his neighbour: therefore is loue the fulfilling of the Lawe.

KJV: And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.
Geneva: And that, considering the season, that it is now time that we should arise fro sleepe: for now is our saluation neerer, then when we beleeued it.

KJV: The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.
Geneva: The night is past, and the day is at hande, let vs therefore cast away the workes of darkenesse, and let vs put on the armour of light,

KJV: Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying.
Geneva: So that wee walke honestly, as in the day: not in gluttonie, and drunkennesse, neither in chambering and wantonnes, nor in strife and enuying.

KJV: But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.
Geneva: But put yee on the Lorde Iesvs Christ, and take no thought for the flesh, to fulfill the lustes of it.
