1 And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there:

*On the third day, there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee, and Jesus' mom was present.

2 And both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage.

*Jesus and his followers were invited to a wedding.

3 And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine.

*When they needed wine, Jesus' mom told him, "They don't have any."

4 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come.

*Jesus asks the woman, "Why do you need me? My time hasn't come yet."

5 His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.

*His mom tells the helpers, Do whatever he tells you.

6 And there were set there six waterpots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkins apiece.

*There were six stone containers for water, like how Jews cleaned themselves, and each held about 2 to 3 large containers of water.

7 Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim.

*Jesus told them, "Fill the water containers with water." So they filled them completely.

8 And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast. And they bare it.

*He tells them to take it now and carry it to the party's main person. They carry it.

9 When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew;) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom,

*When the person in charge of the party tasted the water turned into wine and didn't know where it came from, but the workers who got the water knew. The person in charge of the party then asked the person who provided the wine (the bridegroom).

10 And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now.

*He says, "At first, everyone offers good wine. People drink a lot, then they offer worse wine. But you saved the best wine for last."

11 This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him.

*Jesus performed his first miracle in Cana of Galilee, showing his greatness, and his followers trusted in him.

12 After this he went down to Capernaum, he, and his mother, and his brethren, and his disciples: and they continued there not many days.

*After that, Jesus, Mary (his mom), his brothers, and his followers went to a place called Capernaum. They didn't stay there for too long.

13 And the Jews’ passover was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem,

*The Jewish Passover festival was soon happening, so Jesus traveled to Jerusalem.

14 And found in the temple those that sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the changers of money sitting:

*In the temple, they discovered people selling cows, sheep, and pigeons, as well as those exchanging money.

15 And when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers’ money, and overthrew the tables;

*Then, after making a whip from little ropes, he chased everyone out of the temple, including the animals, and kicked out the money-changers. He also broke their tables.

16 And said unto them that sold doves, Take these things hence; make not my Father’s house an house of merchandise.

*He told the people selling doves, "Take these away; don't turn my Father's house into a place for selling things."

17 And his disciples remembered that it was written, The zeal of thine house hath eaten me up.

*And his followers recalled the words: My intense devotion for your place has consumed me.

18 Then answered the Jews and said unto him, What sign shewest thou unto us, seeing that thou doest these things?

*Then, the Jews asked him, "What sign can you show us, since you're doing these things?"

19 Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.

*Jesus replied, "Knock down this place of worship, and in three days, I'll rebuild it."

20 Then said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou rear it up in three days?

*Then the Jews asked, "This temple took forty-six years to build. Do you really plan to rebuild it in just three days?"

21 But he spake of the temple of his body.

*But he talked about the temple of his physical body.

22 When therefore he was risen from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this unto them; and they believed the scripture, and the word which Jesus had said.

*After Jesus rose from the dead, his followers remembered what he told them and believed the writings and words of Jesus.

23 Now when he was in Jerusalem at the passover, in the feast day, many believed in his name, when they saw the miracles which he did.

*When Jesus was in Jerusalem for Passover during a festival, many people believed in him after seeing the miracles he performed.

24 But Jesus did not commit himself unto them, because he knew all men,

*But Jesus didn't let them take him, because he understood everyone.

25 And needed not that any should testify of man: for he knew what was in man.

*He didn't need anyone to tell him about people's actions, because he already knew what people were thinking and doing.
