Geneva: The burden, which Habakkuk the Prophet did see.

KJV: O LORD, how long shall I cry, and thou wilt not hear! even cry out unto thee of violence, and thou wilt not save!

Geneva: O Lorde, howe long shall I crye, and thou wilt not heare! euen crye out vnto thee for violence, and thou wilt not helpe!

KJV: Why dost thou shew me iniquity, and cause me to behold grievance? for spoiling and violence are before me: and there are that raise up strife and contention.

Geneva: Why doest thou shewe mee iniquitie, and cause me to beholde sorowe? for spoyling, and violence are before me: and there are that rayse vp strife and contention.

KJV: Therefore the law is slacked, and judgment doth never go forth: for the wicked doth compass about the righteous; therefore wrong judgment proceedeth.

Geneva: Therefore the Lawe is dissolued, and iudgement doeth neuer go forth: for the wicked doeth compasse about the righteous: therefore wrong iudgement proceedeth.

KJV: Behold ye among the heathen, and regard, and wonder marvellously: for I will work a work in your days, which ye will not believe, though it be told you.

Geneva: Beholde among the heathen, and regarde, and wonder, and maruaile: for I will worke a worke in your dayes: yee will not beleeue it, though it be tolde you.

KJV: For, lo, I raise up the Chaldeans, that bitter and hasty nation, which shall march through the breadth of the land, to possess the dwellingplaces that are not theirs.

Geneva: For lo, I raise vp the Caldeans, that bitter & furious nation, which shall goe vpon the breadth of the lande to possesse the dwelling places, that are not theirs.

KJV: They are terrible and dreadful: their judgment and their dignity shall proceed of themselves.

Geneva: They are terrible & fearefull: their iudgement & their dignitie shal proceede of theselues.

KJV: Their horses also are swifter than the leopards, and are more fierce than the evening wolves: and their horsemen shall spread themselves, and their horsemen shall come from far; they shall fly as the eagle that hasteth to eat.

Geneva: Their horses also are swifter then the leopards, and are more fierce then the wolues in the euening: and their horsemen are many: & their horsemen shall come from farre: they shall flie as the eagle hasting to meate.

KJV: They shall come all for violence: their faces shall sup up as the east wind, and they shall gather the captivity as the sand.

Geneva: They come all to spoyle: before their faces shalbe an Eastwinde, and they shall gather the captiuitie, as the sand.

KJV: And they shall scoff at the kings, and the princes shall be a scorn unto them: they shall deride every strong hold; for they shall heap dust, and take it.

Geneva: And they shall mocke the Kings, and the princes shalbe a skorne vnto them: they shall deride euery strong holde: for they shall gather dust, and take it.

KJV: Then shall his mind change, and he shall pass over, and offend, imputing this his power unto his god.

Geneva: Then shall they take a courage, & transgresse & doe wickedly, imputing this their power vnto their god.

KJV: Art thou not from everlasting, O LORD my God, mine Holy One? we shall not die. O LORD, thou hast ordained them for judgment; and, O mighty God, thou hast established them for correction.

Geneva: Art thou not of olde, O Lorde my God, mine holy one? we shall not die: O Lord, thou hast ordeined them for iudgement, and O God, thou hast established them for correction.

KJV: Thou art of purer eyes than to behold evil, and canst not look on iniquity: wherefore lookest thou upon them that deal treacherously, and holdest thy tongue when the wicked devoureth the man that is more righteous than he?

Geneva: Thou art of pure eyes, and canst not see euill: thou canst not behold wickednesse: wherefore doest thou looke vpon the transgressors, and holdest thy tongue when the wicked deuoureth the man, that is more righteous then he?

KJV: And makest men as the fishes of the sea, as the creeping things, that have no ruler over them?

Geneva: And makest men as the fishes of the sea, and as the creeping things, that haue no ruler ouer them.

KJV: They take up all of them with the angle, they catch them in their net, and gather them in their drag: therefore they rejoice and are glad.

Geneva: They take vp all with the angle: they catch it in their net, and gather it in their yarne, whereof they reioyce and are glad.

KJV: Therefore they sacrifice unto their net, and burn incense unto their drag; because by them their portion is fat, and their meat plenteous.

Geneva: Therefore they sacrifice vnto their net, and burne incense vnto their yarne, because by them their portion is fat & their meat plenteous.

KJV: Shall they therefore empty their net, and not spare continually to slay the nations?

Geneva: Shall they therefore stretch out their net and not spare continually to slay the nations?
